wrong again, i did not say magarito is p4p in all of the sport i said he was a top 10 p4p welterweight. maybe i could have left out the p4p part but that still does not change the fact that he is in the top10 of the best weight class in boxing.

I just think that Margarito is a tough fight for the sort of fighter that comes forward and KOs people. Cotto and Cintron couldn't beat him by KO(chin is too good), they couldn't tire him out for a late TKO(stamina is too good), and they couldn't win at least 7 rounds by coming forward. Margarito was too big for them to hold centre ring and keep him on the end of a jab.

Both, however, had won most (all?) of their fights this way. Cintron tried to fight the same way he always does, and failed twice. Cotto tried to fight differently and it wasn't suited to him.

Mayweather would have a better chance against Margarito because his style is suited to come-forward fighters. Cotto would do better against Mayweather than Margarito because he's accurate, punches hard, has good hand speed and is very good at breaking people down. That's not to say that he beats Mayweather, but I'd give him a better chance vs Floyd or Williams than in a rematch with Margarito.

You make a comparison between Cotto and Mayweather, but I don't think it's valid. Cotto has, in my opinion, had much better opposition at 140 and 147. I'm not saying he has fought the best in every fight, but he has done so more often than Mayweather in those divisions.

In my opinion Cotto deserved to be ranked in the top 10 p4p. If he can come back and be just as good then I would still have him there.
