Roy would have had his chin checked against G-Man.
Jones would still have continued to great things...I don't think McClellan could have won a heavyweigh title for instance...but his dominance of the last decade of boxing history would have been significantly disturbed across 2 weight classes.

G-Man is one of my all time favorite fighters btw.
I agree, MCclellann has a win over Jones when they met in the amatures by using effective pressure. MCclellann was a massive puncher and if he caught Jones on that questionable jaw, then we might have seen a new star in the late 90s. MCcellann definitely had the power, speed and boxing ability to get it done. However, if he let Jones box from a distance, then he would be student at Roy Jones university. I doubt that this fight would have happen though, Gerald and Roy were long time friends and that kind of messes things up.

the G-man was amazing. such a shame he couldn't really prove it. i still say a p[rime jones would have beat him. prime jones beats almost anyone.

I love the G-man but Prime Roy would have had him out of there in the late rounds, Benn was no Roy Jones he had a MASSIVE heart, BIG punch, Decent Chin and managed to stop McCllelan (sorry to have to bring that fight up) RJJ would do it but without getting hurt too much.

          Roy probably wins.

I loved watching McClellan fight, but people overrate him nowadays.

I'll take that a step farther. McClellan is a VERY OVERRATED fighter. Take away the Jackson wins and you have just a better than average fighter with good power. He wouldn't have touched Roy Jones.

McClellan is one of my favorites (the boxer), unfortunately he didn't quite get to that level. I do feel like he could've been the rival that Jones never had (until Tarver when Roy was already past it), or atleast a good win under his belt...

Solid chin, powerful punch, all offense with minimal defense, that's entertaining.

mcclellen was a very good fighter, but not on roy's level.

Fighters with the "what could have been" thing about them tend to get overrated.

If G-Man were boxing right now, you can bet that people all over boxing forums would be saying "McClellan only beat a shot John Mugabi, and a half-blind Julian Jackson".

I liked watching McClellan though. His KOs of Mugabi and Jackson were fun to watch. His left hook to the body was vicious. Jay Bell lasted, what, 30 seconds?

I think he probably would. I believe McLellan beat Jones in the amateurs, but the pros is different. It would have been interesting to see how Jones's chin stood up McLellan's KO power, but I think it would have and Jones would have beaten Mclellan the way he beat all his opponents back then, too fast, too good.
