It makes sense because that really old hopkins was the man to beat at LHW without question, and if you beat the man to beat, you become the man to beat.

I just ABUSED the word Beat.

if you're talking about ON PAPER, than calzaghe is #1 and he is ranked that on every lhw ranking, there is no question about that, but if you want to talk about reality, than hopkins was not the best fighter in that division abilities wise, he was spent by the end of the 1st round iun the calzaghe fight. sure calzaghe beat the man that beat the man, that only makes him #1 on paper.

Well yea, Pavlik is the man at MW, Cotto is the man at WW, Haye is the man at Cruiser, but they all can't fight everybody in the division, just because Pavlik hasn't fought Wright or Abraham, Cotto hasn't fought Williams or Berto, or Haye hasn't fought Cunningham or Amadek, it doesn't mean they are not "the man" in their division, when it comes to things like this, you have to look on paper because that is the only way, like I said, you can't fight everybody in the division.

the difference is those guys are not only the best on paper but abilities wise as well. they will beat everyone in their divisions and the same cannot be said about calzaghe at lhw.

No, you ASSUME they can beat everyone in their division, and you're ASSUMING Calzaghe can't beat everyone in his division.
