Calzaghe beat the man (Hopkins)....that beat the man (Tarver)....that beat the man (Jones)....that never beat the man (Michalczewski).

Impossible to answer. They need to fight each other.

That's why I like Floyd Mayweather so much.
He erased all possibilities of doubt when he fought and dominated Baldomir.

That would've been a blemish on his legacy if he didn't go beat the man who beat the man at 147lbs.

I think that at this moment you have to say Calzaghe. He took Hopkins ring belt, Hopkins had beaten Tarver pretty easy and Dawson hasn't done or looked good enough to be ranked as the best.

However, I can easily understand not rating Calzaghe the best, since he's only had one fight at the weight, and really that performance alone doesn't place him head and shoulders above Tarver in particular when you consider Tarver has many fights and wins at LHW.

I believe Calzaghe would beat the rest of the fighters listed, with Dawson being his hardest fight, so I think a fair description would be that Calzaghe may be the best boxer currently at LHW, but has not achieved the most at the weight, which right now, since he too has a belt, is Tarver.
