There is proof somewhere if I could be ****ed to find it.

The quote was along the lines of "why would I want to fight a dangerous fighter I could lose to for $5 million when I can have a cakewalk for $4 million?"

He didn't exactly duck Joe, but he refused to fight him.

Oh come on. I know you are a die hard nuthugger but that's pathetic. That isn't proof of anything. Do you know what proof is?

Also your "logic" as to why Glen ducked him is really bad man. CALZ got injured. Glen moved on. That is NOT Glens fault. Come on dude. That's just lame.

Of course he did. Those british fans are all sheep.

They see a guy on a winning streak and they flock out and fill up an entire stadium and us in America can't undestand why.

Ricky Hatton as a up and coming contender sold out against bums. Would have never happened here.

Much harder to become a star in America then over there.

But you can't criticise a man because nobody would fight him.

He fought everyone who was put in front of him, and he beat them all.
Calzaghe will some have problems with Jones if he continues to throw that telegraphed left cross like he did against Hopkins. As a matter fact it was that telegraphed left cross that got his ass knocked down against Hopkins. Roy Jones just like Hopkins is an experienced veteran with good ring intelligence, and unlike Hopkins he has a better work-rate. I expect Jones to throw many counter-rights.

            Shows you know **** all.

Ottke? Are you on ****ing drugs? You clearly dont know **** about Ottke or you would not even mention his name. This is a man who never fought out of Germany. You would be outta your mind if you think Joe would go to Germany to fight him.

Hopkins? You clearl know **** all again or you will know Hopkins doubled his demands. Old ground, but it is clearly news to you.

Wright? Joe has been chasing that midget for ****ing ages after he massacred Lacy. All you heard from Wright after Lacy was how he was going to avenge his best friends lose. Never materialised.

Taylor? Again you are on class a cannabis. Taylor demanded 10 million bucks. Never gonna happen, buddy. You aint Oscar, demanding that much.

Glen Johnson was targetted after Lacy but Glen ****ed up against Woods so Joe didn't take the fight unless Johnson had a belt.

Roy Jones? OK. Fair play. Joe should have gone to the USA to fight Jones. Joe should not have expected Roy to come over to the UK. I will give you this one.

Tarver? Pppffft. The legend killer sure shut up about fighting Joe once he had his ass handed to him by Hopkins.

Andrade, Bute, Woods? Give me a break. Woods ****ed up against old man Tarver.

If that were true then Joe would be ****ing them.

I know it's news to Fat Yanks, but there are more than two or three UK fighters. Not all of them are headlining stars. Even Danny Williams doesn't sell that many.

nah Calzaghe was quite disliked when he was arguably in his best shape

people saw him as arrogant, smug and he was a notorious ****-talker

The difference between Hopkins and Calzaghe is, Hopkins had no choice but to stay at 160 and defend his IBF title for years. He had no big fan base or following and nobody wanted any of him. His IBF title was his only negotiating tool to get fights.

Calzghe on the other hand had a very big fanbase and could have used it to come to America like Ricky Hatton did. He didn't need to cling on to his belt for so long. Only this year did he finally do it to fight a broken down 43 year old who has been largly inactive the last few years.

I give Calzaghe just a lil more credit then current WBO light-heavy champ Zolte Erdei who himself has 10 title defenses now.
Calzaghe didnt have a huge fanbase at all. He went from unpopular to respected but stayed mostly fairly obscure. The Lacy fight introduced him to the general public.

Your parting sentence shows you to be nothing more than a troll.

I actually enjoyed this post. Look, just read the thread starter and I think we're in agreement. In the end you're responsible for your own career... often you have to make sacrifices to make the big fights... more often than not... Joe didn't.
