All he ahd going was a slight edge in power and an advantage in size.

Diaz barely beat Erik Morales last year at a point in which Morales looked like rigormortis was setting in on his ass.
yeah and Gayweather retired as the greatest of all time.

Just call on popkins to duck and dive and fight like a girl and gayweather to not retire and fight top welters.

Sorry dude but you shouldn'e bet against pac.

or else you will get duped once again.

yea, honestly, I think David Diaz would have lost to Julio. I said that before this match too.

but I have to admit that Pacquiao's performance was very impressive. David is a tough guy and has good power, but Manny completely ripped him apart. that I just didnt expect...and while David isnt anything special, hes no pushover.

on paper, this win was huge for Pac. David was getting owned by Santa Cruz before landing a big shot and probebly should have lost the Morales fight, but he still has wins over them.(on paper)

yall are always trying to put down dominant wins over lousy guys, but sometimes fail to see how important it is for a fighter to do what theyre supposed to. too many times we see a guy get put into a fight that theyre supposed to dominate in, and yet they struggle to do any real damage.
that being said, lets not go overboard with this win...haha.

I expected Manny to dominate and knock out Diaz, and was curious as to why he was facing Diaz in the first place.
Nate Campbell holds 3 out of the 4 alphabet belts

        D. Diaz held the 4th. thus the fight of David Diaz vs Pac-Man.

if Bob Arum and Top Rank are gonna move Pac-man up to 135, why not for a title? and besides D Diaz fought on the Marquez-Pac-man undercard to "build up the fight"

completely agree with Bringer, very impressive, as Manny did as he pleased but can people stop talking about size so damn much? sure Diaz was the bigger man, but there's very little you can do when your opponent can rip of 4 and 5 punch combos at will.

not crapping on Pac-Man as he clearly didn't take Diaz lightly, but can we at least look at this performance in perspective compared to the other Lightweight Titlist(s)? such as Campbell and Casamayor.

you mean like how cotto p4p ranking went up after he beat gomez?

Or do you mean like how Calzaghe's p4p ranking went up after he beat an over the hill 43 year old Hopkins?

Or do you mean like how Calzaghe wants a piece of RJJ after he beat up Tito?

There's nothing wrong with giving credit to a guy for doing what he's supposed to.

But still...he was only doing what he was supposed to.

Go check out the first page of this board...you'd think Pac just KO'ed Guzman, Casamayor and Campbell in one night.

He didn't. He beat the **** out of David Diaz who, in case you missed his embarassing performance against Erik Morales, reminded everyone how bad he is tonight.

yeah not to tag onto your point, but I would highly recommend for anyone on here to read The Ring's article on that Diaz-Morales fight

really after reading it, i think it'll change some perspectives

Diaz comes back from a 1st round knock down, to basically outwork and narrowly beat a faded fighter with 53 pro fights, who was only going up to lightweight to try and be the only Mexican to win a world title in 4 weight classes.
