He's still fighting you dumb ****.

But still, Jones isnt nearly as popular as he was in the 90's.

When he retires he'll commentate and stuff and the public will remember him because he's a nice guy and was a great fighter.

When Mayweather retires, the only way he'll be in the public image is in backround shots of 50 cent, and charity basketball games.

His promotion company is going to diie, btw. thought id throw that out there

I'd go as far as to say he'd surpass Leonard as he would still be undefeated while Leonard was not. No one could argue with Mayweather's record at that point, that is if he fights them all now but that won't happen, though I still remain optimistic that he will return to the ring to fight Cotto.
+1 he probably would surpass Leonard in my book and I would definitely consider him an all time great.

SRL was outboxed by Tommy Hearns of all people. You don't think Mayweather could outbox SRL?

Leonard probably wasn't ragged on as hard as PBF, cuz people liked him and respected him. The only reason fight fans will miss PBF when he's retired for good is cuz he left unfinished business in the division he reigned over, not cuz they had love for him.

Mayweather retired without fighting guys like Antonio Margarito Paul Williams and Miguel Cotto. which are top contenders right now. If Mayweather defeated these guys he would be a modern day Sugar ray leonard.
no, he'd be much better... those guys are giants compared to Mayweather. The only time Leonard fought someone that much bigger than him, he made sure he was dehydrated by the most ridiculous catchweight in the history of boxing.

Also, Mayweather rematched Castillo after the close fight they had... Don't even get me started on Leonard's rematch policies. Also, how come there was no Aaron Pryor fight?

The only reason for the differential treatment is that Leonard had the big “I love america” smile on is face

Guess it's sinking in now. You're fighting a losing battle, buddy. Your anger only confirms it.

Dude I get what you are saying but the only person PBF NEEDS to fight is Cotto. Margarito and Williams need not worry about PBF because they not in his league do nothing for him as far as credibility. Cotto is comparable to a modern day Duran even though I feel Duran was better. Margarito and Williams can never be thought of as a modern day Hagler and Hearns. That is why PBF don't need them on his resume.

Best post in the thread by far and really sums up everything that needs to be said. Mayweather has been beating on men much bigger than him for a long time now. People were saying Castillo was way too big in 2002. 5 years later Floyd was STILL moving up and beating everybody decisively.

Tommy Hearns was a GREAT BOXER. And he carried heavy hands and long reach. Mayweather would be beaten by Tommy however Leonard came out on top. There were definite times in that fight Hearns was being soundly beaten which I could never picture a prime Mayweather doing.

                      LOL...

going on by what you hear and see on boxrec right?

did Duran look small at 147? no

does Mayweatehr looks small at 147? yes, he looks like a shrimp

Mayweather and Leonard is perectly legit comparison between two great boxers and two great businessmen.
