De la Hoya is the mega money fight. The PBF fight is the career defining legacy fight.

But I feel that PBF will come back fight whoever emerges from the Cotto-Margarito-De la Hoya fights. The ****ed up part about it is even if PBF wins he will still be hated because people hate him as a person and his fighting style.

All the best fighters in the world have that "I'm unbeatable aura" until they lose. Leonard didn't let his show too much early and that is the one and only reason he was beloved by many in his time and Mayweather was not.

Men can be just as big of drama queens as women and boxing proves it. People don't like Floyd because he talks trash. Boo-hoo.

god ur dumb. i never ****in said Ali was adored in his prime. My father HAAAAAAAAAAATED ali. A toooooooooooooooooooon of people hated Ali.

But when u come down with a deadly illness, u tend to sypathise with the guy. My dad loves Ali now. Donates to his charity. Watches his old fights.

I mean seriously, nobody hates Ali anymore.

And i would hardly call Mayweather "hated." He just wasnt the fighter OR the type of person thats going to be adored by the public, ever. And boxing isnt popular enough right now for Mayweather to even be remembered by the public in 10 years.

If we do comparisons Leonard fought Roberto Duran Marvin Hagler and Thomas Hearns and defeated them. Wiht the exception of the 1st Duran loss. the best of the best at the time.
Mayweather retired without fighting guys like Antonio Margarito Paul Williams and Miguel Cotto. which are top contenders right now. If Mayweather defeated these guys he would be a modern day Sugar ray leonard.

EXACTLY. At some point you say ok there never really were any big threats and it's been a waste of time. After Cotto it's Berto or Williams or somebody.

Get over it. Floyd isn't losing until size overcomes skill. That's going to take a middleweight to pull off.

The funny thing is that there are a lot of SRL fans that rag on Mayweather for "running" in the ring.

I'd go as far as to say he'd surpass Leonard as he would still be undefeated while Leonard was not. No one could argue with Mayweather's record at that point, that is if he fights them all now but that won't happen, though I still remain optimistic that he will return to the ring to fight Cotto.

He got quite a lot of backlash for that press conference especially considering he invited Hagler to sit in the front row only for him to say it would never happen.

If they can't appreciate his talents now they don't deserve to admire them in the years to come.Mayweather is the closest any of us will see to a perfect boxer. At 135 he was not beatable! He should of fought Cotto but even with that win-He should of fought Marg but he should of fought Williams. What people don't understand is that welterweight is not Mayweathers original weight class.I know that he claimed he was the best, but in terms of overall skill he was
As wasnt Roberto Duran he was fighting at 127 when he started and moved all the way up to 160. Mayweather retired way too early for us to even compare him to a ray Leonard. prime for prime ray leonard wouldve eaten up Mayweather Physically and Mentally.
