I have pointed out numerous times Joe expressed a desire to fight Pavlik BEFORE he fights Jones. I posted a video thread a while back, where you here the words straight from the horses mouth. Listen to Joe at 7:45 of this vid, where he is asked if he wants Jones, and says explicitly "I'm more interested in fighting Pavlik to be honest". This is before his **** performance against Hopkins of course, and the demolition of Gary Lockett. His tune has changed quite a bit, hasn't it? All the bull**** Enzo and Joe saying "Pavlik doesn't deserve the fight with Joe", gimme a ****ing break. Two months ago they were all gung ho about a Pavlik fight, until they realized Joe can't even beat a 43 year old convincingly, and realized up close how good Pavlik really is...

If he chose to fight Pavlik people would say he ducked Jones. People these days.

It's weird that all of a sudden Calzaghe doesn't want to fight Pavlik anymore. It would still produce a very good payday.

yeah, especally when it should've been done years ago, and especially now that jones is very beatable and old. jones was a natural talent who relied on his reflexes and was very unorthodox in his fight style. now that the reflexes aren't what they used to be and since jones has had his jaw rewired (nerves), calzaghe being in love with his "0" doesn't want to risk it with anyone else, because if he were to lose, he could say that it was against a legend like roy jones, but if he were to lose and get pummeled by pavlik, it would tarnish his legacy and his career would take a serious hit, joe doesn't want that.
i've said before and i'll say it again, calzaghe is using the past for this fight, using all of jones' accomplishments as his motivation and reasoning for wanting jones over pavlik, when the present and the future is right in front of him joe wants to avoid a fight with pavlik, which there is much more uncertainty because he doesn't know if he could get a win against pavlik but calzaghe feels more confident that he could win over jones and if he were to lose it would look alot better, in his eyes, if he did lose, that it was against future hall of famer roy jones jr. not up and comin kelly pavlik, who right now isnt a shoe in for the hall of fame.

calzaghe is showing his true colors................a calzaghe family quote " at the end of the day............"

Wow. How do the Calzaghe fans justify this?

Change the subject you ******. Why on earth would Calzaghe duck Pavlik??? The only fighters of note that kelly has beaten are Miranda and Taylor. As we've found out Miranda has turned out to be nothing special, and Taylor was one of the most pathetic middleweight champions in recent memory, labouring to wins against Ouma and Spinks and arguably losing to both Hopkins and Wright. I like Pavlik, he's a decent fighter but he's not what the calzaghe haters on this board are making him out to be.

What is untrue? Calzaghe wanted him.... got him... and now... doesn't want him. That's not my opinion. That's reality. You follow a phony. Deal with it.
