Against the right style matchup, Marquez can look great (Pacquiao). Against the more rounded, calculating styles of Barrera and Morales, Marquez would not look as pristine. I see him struggling and losing to a prime Barrera by decision and maybe getting worn down by Morales.

I can tell you havn't seen much of Marquez.

The reason I say this is because his fights always end up in this result: WOULD'VE, COULD'VE, SHOULD'VE. He would've beat Norwood in a rematch (and apparently to some he should've won the fight), he should've defeated Chris John, and he could've beaten Manny Pacquiao. The thing is it didn't happen, just like Vitali Klitschko would've beaten Lennox Lewis in a rematch, he should've won the Lewis fight if it wasn't for the cut, and he could've unified the HW titles. It didn't happen.

Just like Vitali Klitschko, JMM is the king of virtual reality fights.

Vitali Klitcko fans are in denial about the Lewis fight. Vitali got an under trained Lewis and who every doesn't belive it is bull****ting himself. Lewis would have Ko'd Vitaly in the rematch. In there first fight he was already about to take out Vitally.

morales schooled manny worse the juan ma did and i used to be a barrera guy but i don't hate erik.

marquez is not on the same level as erik or marco. period. i might not like marquez but i judge him fairly. i think his skill is comparable to those 2 but his resume is not.

if it makes you happy i'll say juan ma has better boxing skills than manny. fortunately manny's natural skills compensates somewhat for it.

......and juan ma's chin and the knockdowns were a godsend.

I wasn't too impressed by Omar Chavez either, he kept lunging forward and going off balance when he attacked, needs some work.

you'd be hardpressed to find knowledgable boxing fans that would agree prime juanma is better than prime erik and marco.

you might get the new boxing guys who only seen manny beat past prime erik and marco.

marco and erik were great fighters , xcaret.

there's a reason why juan ma got overshadowed by those 2. erik and marco were greater fighters. just because juan ma aged better doesn't mean he was better.

The reason Marquez was over shadowed by Morales and Barrea is because of there exciting boxing style.

Marquez was not over shadowed when he was fighting back in the Great Wester Fourm days.

You know the differces between Marqeuz and Morales/Pacquiao???????????????? Both were forced to keep moving up in weight...........................Marquez has moved up in weight by CHOICE!
