I really don't want to pick a fight with you on this. Let me say two things. First, Roy Jones Jr. is probably the greatest (if not the best, I know that's semantics, but I consider style and choices into the mix in that comparison) fighter since SUgar Ray Leonard. Roy Jones Junior will have alot of trouble winning a fight against Joe Calzaghe in 2008/2009. Roy looked okay against Tito... but if he has more in the bag, he certainly didn't show it. I think there is little or no chance that ROy will get knocked out, but I also don't think that Roy punches enough to win a decision against Calzaghe. If the judges actually scored clean hard punches landed more than those thrown, he would have a strong chance, but I just don't think the judges will take a decision away from Calzaghe on that basis.

Well if we go off most recent performances... bernards single right hand, which slowed down by round 7-8... got him a split decision...

do you think roys right hand is better? and does roy have more than just a right hand?

I believe theres plenty of reasons why Roy can win the fight... and the Calzaghe Hopkins fight is proof of it... in my opinion of course.

Oh outside of a BS stoppage like the Manfredo one, Calzaghe has ZERO chance of stopping Jones. My point was that power probably won't be an issue in this fight, this one's going the distance, period. It comes down to workrate, conditioning, if Calzaghe can get past Roy's new found guard and if Roy can stay busy enough to outpoint Joe.

I don't care who wins, I like them both, actually probably Calzaghe less so after the Hopkins fight.

September is the target from the old man's side. If I were Jones at this stage I'm not worried about Joe hurting me because he rarely turns them over or sits down on them. Even at 39 years old he still has awesome hand speed and decent power. Joe wants the fight and I know Roy wants it because he's been training for him since Tito. He might get real old as that happens, but I would not be surprised to see flashes of the Jones of old in this fight. If Joe beats Roy easily I will take nothing away from the win personally. A win over Jones would be bigger than Hop to me. I think he'll see twice the lead rights as he did from Hop.

Jones will lose controversial decision and the rematch will be in the US.

Here is another scenario that makes sense from a business perspective:
Jones loses a controversial decision in Wales setting up a rematch in the US for one of the biggest boxing events in boxing history. They would make 30M each for the rematch setting up a possible trilogy.

Even though Roy jones has got a bit of his confidence back after the Tarver/Johnson fiasco, I wouldnt give him the edge over Joe Calzaghe. Joe has the same handspeed if not better than Roy at this stage and he has the high/better workrate.

I find it hard to see either fighter KO'in each other but i have Joe by decision.

Well someone has to promote the fight. Will it be King now? Yeah well we all know how well Jones is getting along with him lately. He still owes Jones money from the Trinidad fight

It all comes down to Politics and a Diva attitude. Joe thinks he is a big fish in the US now where in actuality, he is still a small fry. He wants to set the terms of who he wants to fight and for how much.

You will now see two enormous ego's trying to negotiate for a fight that probably will never happen.
