To get a bigger slice of the pie, Joe's scrapped his Warrenty. I reckon it's a good move especially if Frank is being dodgey over moneys owed from the Hopkins fight, his own fault.

With Warren offering Joe to promote with him, I was worrying for Joes judgement, but he's shown he's sharper than many credit him for. He'd be a decent promoter in his own right, is well respected in the industry overall, and particularly fighters (more so here). He'd certainly have a few from his stable on the books, and would give em a better deal too.

As much as a I severely dislike Warren, Calzaghe should keep him for the final fight for ****s sake.

You people are to quick to point the finger at this fight and say its garbage... not realizing, that if Roy... not Joe... but Roy pulls this fight out... your looking at a Top 10 ATG....

THATS why this fight is important... you could possibly witness a fighter completely ressurect and lift his ATG status...

Sad to say but, if Joe beats ROy... he really DOESNT get much credit, Roys 39.. been KOed twice... hell... if the fight gets made in November, thats 2 months shy of Roys 40th Bday...

On the contrary, if Roy wins... which is NOT, out of the question... it would be unbelievable.

Roy's two weakness I'd say are power and workrate. Calzaghe doesn't have much power to worry Roy but he does have the workrate to pull off a win, especially at Roy's age. Roy can win but it won't be easy. Calzaghe by UD or stoppage I would have to predict.

Calzaghe won't KO or OUTBOX Jones in 12 rounds

Roy Jones Jr. has been doing the unbelievable his whole career. In Joe Calzaghe he is facing a boxer. Roy was KOd by punchers with one punch KO power. Calzaghe does not have one punch KO power. This will be a boxing match of speed and skills. Styles make fights. If Joe were facing a different style I would give him a better chance to out box his opponent (i.e. beating Bernard Hopkins) but I cant see him out boxing Jones. He will have his moments but he wont out box Jones for 12 rounds and may get KOd by Jones. The only way Calzaghe wins is a controversial decision. Either way tihs is Jones fight to win or lose.

Too true. All all ends in the result, not enough are going to judge based on the performance. If it's a close win for Calzaghe, many will say Calzaghe isn't as good as we thought, and Roy is shot, as we didn't expect it to be quite so close. Result, Roy written off, Calzaghe not getting much credit.

Whereas if Roy did just slightly better, won a couple extra rounds and the fight, he'd have have immense respect and be called the better fighter, p4p, and a ATG top 10. Wheres the sense in that?

It's almost no win for Calzaghe. I just hope ppl can accept it, if Roy performs very well, like at the top level, and Joe still beats him.

Jones aint nothing to play with man.

Roy not only has power but speed and accuracy. Ya'll must have forgot Calzaghe was dropped by Hopkins in Rd 1 because he had never seen a right hand like that. Well... against Roy Jones there is a lot more than a right hand that he has never seen. Calzaghe is a good fighter.. with an unorthodox style. Roy Jones is a legend with an unorthodox style. To put the differences between the two fighters in perspective I ask this: "Can anyone imagine Joe Calzaghe moving up to Heavyweight to win the Heavyweight title at anytime in his career?" (Please don't embarass yourself by even imagining that possiblity.) Now ask yourself this: How did Jones make it look easy? EASY. Thats the difference between Good, Great and Legendary. Jones has something Calzaghe has never had. He's Legendary.
