My first live fight I watched (not in the crowd... like on TV) was Dawson-Adamek & Diaz-Chavez. That Showtime card.

Although I had been DLing Jones fights earlier and Mayweather as well.

Fight Night got me into the sport.
No excuse, I'm newer then you are and I've seen this

I credit this fight for making me really get into boxing. After this fight is when I started looking at ESPN.com for boxing and tuning into HBO more for boxing. I'll never forget that 12th round because like you said the commentators lead me to believe that Toney needed a knockout. Looking back at it now, it's not as close as they made it seem, but damn I still get goosebumps when Steward goes ape****.

Yeah Harold too bad Toney clearly won all of those rounds
lawl... that crazy coot. Fantastic fight, just watched it a few days ago actually. One of my favorite parts is what Jirov's handlers tell him to do, and he tries it for about 10-15 seconds of each round then gives up.

It's like... MORE HEAD MOVEMENT! "Ok", he'll move his head once or twice then go back to getting punished. Awesome fight.

A crying shame that the fight was fought in front of like 1000 people in the tiniest arean imaginable.

But i agree. Extremely competitive, but clear for James Toney

I just hate it when he goes into zombie mode and acts like a Calzaghe or Oscar fan and starts scoring for "aggression" even if it's effective or not.

Funny thing because he clearly spells out the rules he is supposed to score by before every fight.

Somewhere VIVA is crying that two warriors fought an awesome battle and there were no Mexicans within a hundred miles of the ring.

I mean yeah I agree with you guys. The commentators originally had me believing it was close, but that was 5 years ago and I was younger and dumber so I fell for it. Knowing it's not close going into the 12th takes off some of the luster, but I still get the goosebumps too when Toney starts going to work and just tearing the poor kid apart.

I'm sure they were working concessions somewhere in the arena.

I just can't bring myself to watch copies of fights in that condition. I need some time to **** around on solitaire for the minute in between rounds. Something is wrong with me I think, but you know... can't be fixed!
