There was a time when i respected James Toney more then any other athlete in the world.

Just naturally talented. He was so relaxed that even when he was over weight, he could go 12.

And rumors are that Toney is in very good shape, and may be in great shape for his fight with Rahman
I dont think history will be as kind to him as guys like Floyd, Roy, Hopkins, and even Calzaghe. And I can understand why people would think that way.

He could have changed all of this by not testing positive for steroids, and actually training for the Rahman fight.

Should have got the nod against Peter too. His whole career could be different. Wlad would have ****ed him up so bad though, that would have been ugly.

yeah lederman is really bad and random. sometimes I feel like he isn't even watching the fight and just puts down random numbers for fun, its that bad. but atleast he isn't the worst scorer, that would have to go to the lady judge who gave holyfield the win against lewis.

A lot of people, including Harold Lederman, thought this fight was close. It wasn't. If you want proof of how bad a judge Lederman is, here's your proof. Toney completely dominates round 5, yet Jirov wins it on his card. Lampley and Steward even go on and on about how Toney crushed Jirov in the round, yet Lederman comes right on and says Jirov wins it with "aggression." LOL. Lampley later claims Jirov "dominates" round 11, yet moments later he reads off the punch stats only to calmly say that Toney landed 6 more punches. Plus Toney's punches were worlds better in that round. I scored it 117-109 as did TWO of the judges. The other judge had it 116-110. I gave Toney everything from round 5 on. I was watching it and scoring and thinking, "No way did I think this was this lopsided back in 2003." Guess I was letting the commentators influence me then. Hard to believe such a great, great fight was that lopsided, but it was.
I agree but it was the most competitive one sided fight that I have seen. I don;t think Jirov won more than 3 rounds and I like him as much as Toney.
