I noticed you were having some problems with the English language. Hopefully this quote helps (errors in bold)...Fighters dont need boxing to become a famous fighter ANYMORE and niether does the CASUAL FAN...
Boxing never before had competition like this before..Now its does ...
and you can see it when
More people know Chuck Liddel then Miguel Cotto and Margarito Combined
More People Know Kimbo Slice then Miguel Cotto and Margarito Combined
Boxing is in serious Jeopardy to be Replace in the spotlight by these other sports....
Just ask the causal fan who they recognized more Chuck Lidell and Kimbo Slice or Miguel Cotto and Joe Calzaghe...Comment

So what dont u understand.?
Should I rewrite the post in german..?
This is not a English Essay, So i am not looking for perfection in grammar, this is on-line discussion thread. I think you should look for perfections in grammar or spelling somewhere else because BOXINGSCENE.COM is not the site your pet peeves for grammar and spellingComment

Actually I think part of your post was in German...
(read word for word)
Your posts always have ****ed up grammar and bad spelling. I feel like I need some kind of decoder when reading stuff like this. I'm sorry if I offended you but it's not that hard to type complete sentences (most people do).Comment

I agree, using the rising combat sport doesn't accurately mark the casual boxing or fight fan.Speaking as someone from the UK, that is absolutely crazy to me. I can barely even believe that MMA is a serious rival to boxing over there, because over here although it has its fans it is probably closer to being banned than it is to gaining any kind of mainstream acceptance. If I was you I would kind of worry about it too.
I think probably what MMA does well that boxing does not is market itself to the white wannabe hip-hop crowd and metal crowd. From what I've seen it appears to be positioned kind of like skateboarding and extreme sports are: as "cool". Boxing I think sees and promotes itself very much more as a "sport", and I think also that it is actually not so easy to appreciate for these type of kids because it requires some degree of knowledge to be appreciated properly and does not offer the instant gratification hit of violence that MMA does, and that what these kids are looking for.
However, boxing has been around for a much longer time and has a huge history and tradition to back it up. 20 years from now, unless the world has gone crazy, the general public will still know the names "Roy Jones" and "Floyd Mayweather" but I would be very surprised if many people at all will recall "Kimbo Slice" and "Chuck Liddell", because their names will not be part of a richly remembered history in the same way that the greatest boxers names are.
Casual fans of boxing are SPORTS fans that watch ESPN and Fox Sports and team sports of all kinds, not just sports where two men or women are fighting. In fact, MMA fans are MUCH MORE likely to know boxers than the casual fans.
The fact that a couple MMA fighters have got their names on the tongues of a few SPORTS fans doesn't mean that it's MMA taking over boxing.
When the NHL Finals went to game 6, there were guys I know tuning in just because it was a big time sports event - even though they weren't hockey fans. The casual sports fan will tune into a boxing bout they 1) have access to (no PPV) and 2) deem worth the sports viewer's time. That's why they tuned into Kimbo - it was in the news, and it was free.Comment
not worth the time..
