Whenever this fight gets mentioned, Oscar gets hated on, dont get it.
He went up from 140 to 147, and instead of tune ups, he went right after the Man at WW in his first fight at that weight.

he gets hated on because he was young and in his prime and whitaker was clearly on coke and out of his prime. it should have been easier for him then it was. its this fight right here that told me that oscar has issues with guys who have a defensive style like whitaker who stays on his toes and gives tricky movement.

I don't see how dancing around the ring, throwing a jab and then running wins a fight? Whitaker looked busy, but he wasn't doing anything apart from bouncing up and down and acting like a **** head.

Whitakker stole the show with his defensive wizardry, it was one of his great performances but I always seem to score the fight to Oscar. Whitakker's punches just seemed a little inoccuous compared to De La Hoya's (barring the knockdown.....which was lets face it, hardly devastating!).
