Who has Margarito beat that makes him so amazing and such a "first big test"??? he beat who? cintron? clottey? who else?

i mean seriously. margarito is no bum but you shouldnt act like cotto is below him. cotto has proven many things in his fights like:

      A) Torres fight - shows his ability to recover and determination/heart.

      B) Mosley fight - Shows he's a smart fighter...even boxes mosley AND looks good doing it...

      C) Malignaggi fight - shows he can fight a guy successfully who is a very good pure boxer...shows versitility.

      D) Judah fight - once again shows his smarts as he very carefully works the body and then the chin to put him away...shows just how effective he can be as he keeps coming forward.
Good post. Cotto was bigger and stronger than everyone he pretty much faced. He won't be gong into this fight which is why live dog created this post. To pose a questions to fight fans. Now he is a cotto hater? Please.

          C) Couldn't finish the guy
          D) Anyone that keeps coming at Judah will win
a- margarito has been hurt 2 - **** .. i guess everyone who BOX . can get hit and hurt.. but not everyone has the balls to get up and ktfo your opponent 2 rounds later..
b- agree... but. (tony = slow starter) so i guess the rounds that cotto takes off equalize those tony dont put pressure... isn't that the same?
c- Just like i was... i bet u were pretty impressive by the amount of punishment paulie took that night... he's a tsob... he prove wrong a lot of ppl that night.. even with that loss he's worldclass
d- i dont care about this wanna be gangsta.... no tiene diciplina..... es un sube y baja...

          BUT.... staying to the thread...

I think it is the biggest test but not the first...

Look at my post above. I stand corrected. It was a knee jerk reaction post. Once Livedog posed a question to me and I thought more about it, I changed my mind.

                I WAS WRONG!!!

                  Please dude,

Every person here who hates on Cotto or was the least bit skeptical was picking Judah & Mosley to beat Cotto. Now that he's beaten them people try to mock or discredit his wins.

I've said it before...Cotto will need to beat the Cloverfield Monster to get any respect (if that).

But keep trying though...we're going on 2 yrs of doubters continuing on hoping for a Cotto loss LOL.

After July 27th we'll see this thread

"Was Margarito really a Big Challenge for Cotto?"

It'll never end. But again, keep tryin.

No it is actually true. Many people believed Cotto was just a brawler with power. Even Floyd said that Mosley would stop Cotto late, everyone believed guys like Zab would be to fast and slick for Cotto, but Cotto was able to adjust to it & compensate with timing. Even Quintana was picked over Cotto in Puerto rico, I think there was only one trainer who had Cotto to win the fight out of 4-5 trainers.

True. But if a rubber match happens I see it going the same way as the second.

                      word

Had they fought at JWW then this would be relevant. However, they fought at WW where Judah has lost to everyone.

Once again, "never been knocked out" would be relevant had Cotto actually accomplished it. Since he didnt', wtf is the point?

                      lol
1>He acually won those, even if you dont agree with that.
2>He would lose the rubber match based on what theory? Any fighter can have a poor night.
                      3>Word.
4>Judah was great, just not discipline. They both fought at JWW and moved up to WW. Thats why it is relevent.
5>There is no one that has KO'd Mosley and he has been in every fight he has ever lost, so that would be considered the point. It is a big acomplishment beating Mosley. No shame in winning a decision either.
6>I like Gomez man and he didnt quit. lol
