There were a lot of people going for Quintana too because he was supposedly the "stronger" Welterweight and was also undefeated.

Bottom line, ya'll are reaching trying to discredit Cotto's opponents...but chill, don't make fun of Margarito for losing to Williams and Santos and almost catching an L from then unknown Clottey. He's ****in dangerous son!!!!
    nice try....son

Ok, you're a reasonable poster, answer me this........Shane's WW career consists of one big win and one big won only, Oscar. How can this guy be considered that big of a test at WW?

Torres - took the fight on short notice and almost put Cotto away

Branco - lost to Gatti. Enough said.

Malignaggi - 7-1 underdog going into the fight and has received two gift decisions in his last two fights. Also not known as anywhere near a big puncher, he had Cotto hurt.

Quintana - we all saw his last fight.

          Urkal - lol

Judah - who hasn't beaten this guy

Mosley - was a great fighter, but his last big win was against Oscar in '03. A fight most thought he lost.

Gomez - that's right, Alfonso Gomez.
some of the descriptions are right on, and some are a bit convoluted. Good post. I feel that cotto has not been truly tested for being a champ for as long as he has been.

His comp isn't weak, but it isn't strong. He has never been tested, and i believe that. For a fighter with that many defense, and how long he has been a champ, he has not been truly tested yet.

Because he fought nothing like he did in his prime when he fought cotto.

That's a good point. I guess I was letting Shane's accomplishments at lower weight classes gloss over my opinion. I hadn't thought of it that way (the right way ) I guess.

I can admit when I'm wrong.

Why is it that when someone says anything about cotto, you guys get defensive, but let anything roll off your tongues the minute you can insult floyd mayweather? Live Dog is asking a legit question, and you guys are bypassing the question.
