Prime Roy might be unbeatable by ANYONE in history at Super Middle let alone those three guys. I am a big Kelly Pavlik fan too but he probably would not have won a round against Roy.

Joe offered to fight Roy IN AMERICA for more than he was getting paid to fight the nobodies he was fighting at the time.

Roy responded by saying (almost an exact quote, I will find the real one):

"Why would I fight a dangerous guy I could lose to for $5 million, when I can have a cake walk for $4 million?"

If I can prove that to be true (which I will, very soon), it is proof that prime Roy wanted none of Joe Calzaghe.

and this leads you to believe that joe would beat roy?

its one thing if a fighter ducks another because the other fighter would most likely whoop his ass...

that wouldnt be the case here

luke would you mind finding the quote i was talking about too.

because we need to have some sort of reasonable thinking here.

you fight a prime james toney and yet your afraid of unknown joe calzaghe

          that is completely ridiculous

Roy's better than Joe by far but at this point he could lose to him. I still think RJ will pull it off tho.

I'm not saying Joe beats prime RJJ, but it wouldn't be the blowout everyone thinks it would be.

I would just like to prove a point to all the arrogant RJJ lovers (yourself not included) that Joe could not possibly have fought him any earlier, because Roy didn't want to fight Joe.

Everyone seems to go on about RJJ being past it but he is 39 and Calzaghe 36, which is a small age difference in real terms. Or is that just an excuse being lined up?

As recently as last week, Jones has stated that the offer was for him to fight in the UK. And that it made no sense to do so since he was the man and Calzaghe was a peon. Now that the tables have turned, he is willing to do so - as ANY true challenger should (someone shoulda told Joe that years ago).

Do you think we're ******? A guy who FINALLY moved up, who FINALLY came to the US to fight a 43yr old fighter was willing to do that for the best fighter in the world six years ago? And the funny thing is...the Jones fight will probably take place in the US too! If he's doing it now when they're finished, why couldn't he have done it years ago??

Common sense, people...it's called "common" because all of us are supposed to have it.
