He could easily get beat by any real guy that has a lick of punching power. I am waiting for the day he is fighting some decent guy that is getting +400(or more) against him so i can take advantage.

Dont get me wrong, i dont think Berto is complete ****, but im not gonna get behind a guy who has everything handed to him. I have never even heard of the guy he is fighting for the vacant title, meanwhile there are at least 10 other guys he couldve been matched with to make it an intriguing and worthwhile fight.

You can bumo this thread, I can live with being wrong, Id rather make my case known beforehand though. Im not the guy who waits for the result and says "I knew it!!"

the fight is happening because of the WBC, they matched berto #1 and rodriguez #2 for the vacant belt...

those are the two highest ranking fighters in the WBC

which is bull****, but it is what it is..

Im with you on this one, a constant ******** perspective must be a Michigan thing??

Im waiting to see the odds this rodriguez fella gets. Im expecting Berto to be -600 to -800. So if Rod. gets +550 or +600 i will throw 20 bucks down just cause Berto is giving up 3 inches in height and the other guy has 23 KO's in 28 wins.

The WBC is a joke. Look at 140 pounds, they make Tomothy Bradley a mandatory for Junior Witter because they think its an easy fight and after witter wins he can be matched for big money against Hatton.... whoops

Now we will see if Bradley gets fed handpicked fights now that he is champ.. doubt it. Now the WBC will decide which 140 pounder they want to be champ and find a way to make him number 1 and force Bradley to defend his title against the toughest available comp.

I almost put money on the last dude he knocked out just because, I remember thinking what has Berto done to deserve being a 6 to 1 favorite over anyone in the ring. I don't think Rodriguez is the guy to get the job done though, in fact i hope Berto decapitates him, the more over rated he gets the better imo.

berto looks like a very strong prospect but he needs to step up his competition so we know if he is any good. i would like to see him in there with collazo or someone like that to get a better idea of where hes at.

Berto's definitely got potential, but he's not ready for the top guys yet.

You are a good poster, and you seem to know your ****. But c'mon man, you can't write down a kid who is being brought up and has INDEED talent. The kid has power and speed, his only knock is his lack of defense, but he makes up for it on offense. I wouldn't say his chin is suspect either because that KO was a perfectly placed shot from a guy who's got pop. I think Berto's true test will be after this weekend, if he indeed wins the belt and steps up for tougher challenges.

hes had 21 fights? hes right on par with EVERY OTHER FIGHTER, besides maybe antonio tarver...

how many BIG names have all these guys fought by 21 fights?

hes being brought up just as he should be in my opinion... you dont throw a guy with 20 fights right into the wolves.. not if you want him to be successful for another 20 fights
