    different styles of fighting.

you're telling me if you stand and go toe to toe with someone and he's killing you you wouldn't grab him?

if you had to fight floyd you wouldn't grab him? you honestly would stand there and do something that you know you can't win at?

i'm 5'8 195. i'm a short ****. i'll throw with anyone but i'm gonna have problems throwing hands against guys that are 6'2 so i do what i need to to win. usually means trade and shoot for the takedown.

you can call it a ***** move....... you can call me a *****...... just as long as i'm on top punching your face. there are no rules in fighting. only to do whatever you can to win.

Yeah ok, but If Hatton took Floyd to the ground and punched him it would not be fair and therefore he would be a ***** for doing so.

There is a skill to fighting on the ground, but its for bitches who cant fight, to fight is to punch someone in the head to have a tear up. Hatton vs Kostya is a fight. 2 way action.

I respect Judo as a sport, and but UFC as a company is marketing itself as a 'fighting sport'. Its ****** just because someone cant be man enough to fight a shot to pieces 'Ray Mercer', they become the ***** and tap him out. Wheres the honour and glory in that?

            you lost me.

ummm...... you're confusing a boxing match with a fight.

obviously if you're in the ring sparring at the gym you're not gonna grab or wrestle......

you're calling wrestling and submission move for bitches. i agree if a boxer grabs or wrestles in a boxing match it's a ***** move.

but you're talking about a sport that has grappling as part of their sport.

just say it doesn't interest you or it's not fun to watch. you call it a ***** move. i bet you a lot of college and high school wrestlers , judokas , etc. would disagree with you.

nevermind. that's why i hate people posting mma stuff on a boxing forum.

Have you got anything more than just your opinion to justify why grappling is intrinsically less valuable or less worthy a form of fighting than striking? Can you construct an argument beyond "it's for bitches"? Or would that be asking too much? Did you write what the definition for "fighting" is?

You just sound a little insecure about the fact that 99% of strikers/boxers/kickboxers who have no training against takedowns or submissions would get choked out, have a limb broken or knocked out on the ground by a grappler of comparable experience.

Owned how? Because you don't know any combat sports beyond boxing? Yeah, that makes sense.

So practioners of Sambo, MACMAP or Pankration are "bitches".

I know of several people who'd disagree.

i like MMA, it can be intriguing and fun really to watch . . . but it doesn't have the rich history and overall appeal for me that boxing does.

I also hate many/some MMA fans because they seem to know little of what they are watching and always booo at any lull in action even during good fights which drives me crazy.

It never produces the same kind of drama, intensity, ebbs and flows that a 12 round boxing matches create for me.

Huh?? its the same **** as Floyd or SRL dancing circles around someone they obviously could never go toe to toe with.

Ask yourself if you had to fight Hagler and ground and pounded him til his orbital bone broke would you consider yourself a ***** then?? Hell nah you wouldnt. You beat the **** out of 1 of the baddest fighters ever regardless of how you did it.
