I have to admit.. Ask me about any UFC last year and I'd say, **** UFC.. its bull****, with 2 guys rolling around ect..

It grew on me, I watch it on occasion. I'd much rather see sluggers than grapplers..
But when you watch a fighter like St. Pierre (seen 2-3 fights), you open your eyes and say wow, that was an art. Guys like that are skilled and can use that type of MMA to kick ass ina street fight..

Most people ina street fight don't kick, just throwing that out there..

I don't know much about UFC but I'll watch some fights.

I will always like boxing more though..

If you do check out some MMA, don't just watch the UFC. There is loads of fantastic MMA that goes on outside the UFC, and although the UFC has a lockdown on most of the top level, top 10 fighters in each division, there are fighters outside the UFC who are top 10 calibre and fighting other elite level fighters.

The Affliction Banned pay-per-view is probably one of the best fight cards ever assembled in North America. The UFC is putting on a free card that night, but really, the Affliction banned card is better. It features many top 10 and just outside top 10 heavyweights. Fedor vs Tim Sylvia, Josh Barnett vs Pedro Rizzo, Arlovski vs Rothwell, Aleks Emelianenko vs Paul Buentello. Also Vitor Belfort, Babalu, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Matt Lindland. Well worth checking out.

I'd recommend if you want to check out some of the best fights that ever happened, you check out some Pride fights, even though Pride is not around today.

      A few fights I'd recommend:

Fedor Emelianenko vs Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (both fights)-This was basically Fedor showing incredible dominance over at the time, the sports best fighter and current UFC heavyweight champion. The first fight is probably one of the most technical and destructive displays of ground and pound ever. The second fight, awesome domination in the stand-up and takedowns.

Fedor Emelianenko vs Mirko Crocop- Probably Fedors best performance. He goes up against a technically far superior striker in Crocop and beats him at his own game. It's an incredibly impressive performance.

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs Antonio Rogerio Nogueira- Just an absolute war. Great action wherever the fight goes.

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs Mirko Crocop- One of the best come from behind wins in the sports history.

Kazushi Sakuraba vs Carlos Newton- Sakuraba is unknown to many in the US, but he is a true legend in MMA. This fight was probably the best grappling orientated fight the sport has seen.

Murilo "Ninja" Rua vs Mario Sperry- Another war wherever the fight goes, similar to Shogun vs Nogueira. The pace is unbelievable.

To get up to date on some of todays top pound for pound fighters:

Georges St.Pierre vs Matt Hughes 2 and 3- You said you've seen a few GSP fights to hopefully you've seen these, but they are just GSP showing incredible striking, wrestling and submission skills. GSP probably the best athlete in MMA. He completely dominates the greatest welterweight in MMA history.

Anderson Silva vs Rich Franklin(both times), Dan Henderson and Nate Marquardt- Anderson Silva's run in the UFC over the past two years has been incredible. He was once a skilled, but flakey fighter, having lost to some fighters he really shouldn't have. But something changed around 2004, he developed tremendously into one of the best fighters of today.

        First time seeing it...
Rogan completely avoided the last question.
The whole UFC is more like fighting is a bit exaggerated, I've never seen an arm bar or an ankle lock be used in a street fight. I'm willing to bet most street fights don't involve kicking at all, at least not in the way it is done in MMA.
Two different sports, needing different skill sets, to each his own.
