Explain to me what's so great about Hopkins's middleweight resume...

Joe's resume ain't THAT bad. Anyone who thinks even an old Eubank or a prime Reid (an olympic medallist and world champion) were "bums" knows **** all IMO. It ain't GREAT, but I don't see any difference between his reign and Hopkins's. Seriously.
Let's have a look:
Segundo Mercado - Who the **** is this guy?
Steve Frank - Who the **** is this?
Joe Lipsey - Who the **** is this?
William Bo James - Who the **** is this?
John David Jackson - Who the **** is this?
Glen Johnson - Yeah, I know this guy. Pretty good win, but he's not stellar, is he? What did ever go on to do, majorly? He was never THE man at lh, was he? He beat a shot Roy and then got a gift against Tarver. But a good win, nonetheless.
Andrew Council - Who the **** is this?
Simon Brown - Who the **** is this?
Robert Allen - Just a mediocre kind of guy. Also, one of the three bouts was a NC, so how the **** did Hopkins do "20 defences" when one was a NC????
Antwun Echols - Twice. Who the...
Syd Vanderpool - Yeah, I kind of know this guy.
Keith Holmes - Who the **** is this?
Felix Trinidad - A natural Welterweight who achieved **** all at middle
Carl Daniels - See Syd Vanderpool.
Morrade Hakkar - Who the **** is this?
William Joppy - The guy who got beat by Trinidad and could have been beat by Eastman if he'd got his act together earlier? Still, semi-decent win there, at least a middle, if a little one.
Oscar De La Hoya - You gotta be kidding me, right? A natural lightweight who looked as if he'd lost his only other middleweight bout? And this is his career-defining win? What does that define it as - a guy who feasts on midgets?
Howard Eastman - A decent enough contender, if not stellar, this guy had Joppy's number but didn't ring it. Hopkins fought him like a *****. There's hitting and not getting hit, and running like a gay.
Jermain Taylor - Sad Intentions went on record as saying he was jealous of Shannon Briggs's stamina. Still beat Hopkins twice.

that being said, people blow Hopkins' wins way out of proportion sometimes. The Trinidad win was good, he was wrecking at Middleweight and L Middleweight before he fought Hopkins.
but the former champs that Hopkins beat were usually past their best weight or old...Like Simon Brown, De La Hoya, John David Jackson, Carl Daniels, etc.
Hopkins' wins are basically the same or worse than Calzaghe's. notable, but not that great.
I will say that Hopkins' career at L Heavyweight is better than Calzaghe's though. people talk about Hopkins fighting 'blown up' guys, but seem to kind of forget that Hopkins himself came from Middleweight to L Heavy.

Agreed?
He are talking p4p. p4p, Kessler isn't better than De La Hoya and Lacy isn't better than Trinidad.
p4p was invented for Robinson. A fighter who wasn't bound by weight. Oscar and Trinidad weren't for the most part. They just fell short to the better fighter. P4P. Kessler would beat both of those fighters, most likely heads up. But his skills overall don't match theirs, prime for prime.

Both look about the same to me, the thing is though Hopkins fights at a higher weight.

But Hop has only beat one real LHW so far.
