Lewis was starting to come on when the fight was stopped. He was able to land that monster uppercut that snapped Klitschko's head back. The fight was starting to turn in Lewis' favor.

lewis would've won by ud or tko. even if vitali had ko'd him in the 2nd round, that wouldn't prove lewis as overrated cuz he was 38 damn years old. but lewis would've won and I agree with his decision to retire.

and beating washed up holyfield and tyson shouldnt count for anything. i like george foreman but that guy was crazy to suggest that lummox was the best heavyweight of all time

Lewis was old, Vitali shouldn't have been hit as much as he was. That's it if Vitali had been smart about it and not gotten hit as much as he did he would've walked out there with a W and no cuts but he didn't.

If an old, finished Lewis managed to hit and hurt Vitali in that fight then a prime Lewis would've beaten him much more soundly. Vitali if he wasn't riddled with injury proberbly would've gone on to dominate the HW division afterward, his loss to Byrd is a legit loss (in my eyes) because he injured himself. The loss to Lennox was legit and the 6th round was a horrible one for Vitali, the cut was due to a punch in the 3rd round not a headbutt btw otherwise if it were on a headbutt it would've gone to the cards.

I agree, that plus the fact that Lewis didn't train properly for this fight and took the fight on short notice becuase he was originally scheduled to face Kirk Johnson. An in shape Lewis even at that stage on his career would have most likely beaten Klitschko conivincingly. Vitali is a very good fighter and i take nothing away, but he lost fair and square. He has horrible skin and have been prone to cuts in the past.

not nearly as crazy as you suggesting Wlad is an all time great. he sucks and got KO'd by some of the worst heavies in recent years

I read a lot of insanely crazy stuff on here every time I visit and let it pass, but this is patently absurd. I was never a fan of Lewis, but to intimate that he was a "bum" is -put into Don King-speak - "Ludicrosity of the high-ess of bias!!"

Furthermore, speculation as to what the outcome would have been had the fight continued is nothing more than just that- speculation.
