Diaconu vs. Dawson purse bid settled

Gankor Promotions of Romania bid $1,813,000
    Gary Shaw Promotions bid $1,301,000

    Gankor wins.

I doubt that Dawson will go to Romania to defend his title. There are ongoing negotiations for Dawson vs. Tarver anyway...

So Dawson will likely be stripped of his WBC title if he chooses to fight Tarver instead, and Diaconu's interim title will become the full WBC light heavyweight world title.

Diaconu will KO Dawson if the fight happens.

I can't imagine Dawson going over to Romania, he will likely vacate the title and fight Tarver.

Gary Shaw is so ****ing cheap, I don't see why Dawson has a problem going to Romania. Chris Henry went there and did pretty well, and who really gives a damn about a Dawson-Tarver match? Dawson knows what he needs to do before he fights Tarver, he simply just can't avoid Diaconu.

            No, he wouldn't.

Thats why Diaconu's team has been pushing so hard for Dawson to be stripped so they can fight for a vacant belt.

What I want to know is why did the WBC allow Diaconu to fight for a vacant belt when it was him, not the champion, who was injured?

            Diaconu is a scrub.

Diaconu's promoter Gankor Promotion won the purse bid, therefore they have rights to call where the fight will be at.

Diaconu's injury was back in September 2007, and he was ready to fight again by November. Dawson fought a short-notice journeyman on that September date.

But instead of fighting his mandatory Diaconu, by then fully recovered and ready Diaconu, in early 2008 Dawson decided to fight Glen Johnson. The WBC granted an exception to Dawson and let him avoid Diaconu for one fight and keep his title, and Diaconu fought Henry for the interim title instead.

Now, Dawson is expected to fight Diaconu, but he is reportedly in negotiations for a fight with Tarver in October. But who knows, he may instead decide to go to Romania and face Diaconu, we'll know within a week or two.

Diaconu isnt anything special from what i saw in his last fight against Henry, I say Dawson should go there (Romania or Canada) defend his belt then look at what Tarver wants.

He just cant wait around for Tarver who just want to fight RJJ everyday.
