well no... if uve ever heard him commentate you would know his knowledge is EXTREMELY deep in figuring fights out, and depicting the outcome, and selecting the right choices a fighter must make to win the fight...

Roy has a lot of tools in his arsenal, not just his hands, but in his mind... hes not a pushover, and nobody will beat him, with ease.

go ahead, let the tarver and johnson comments roll in now...

Exactly! He is a very clever man. It's unfortunate he lost to the likes of Tarver and Johnson, but you can see he wasn't the same coming down so soon from Heavyweight.

With the right training he will be well equipped to ready for Joe. If Joe beats Roy, i will definitley give him the credit he deserves, because if anybody thinks Roy is completely shot they are fooling themselves. Yes, he may be a shadow of his former self, but look at what his former self was, he is all but shot.

He didn't look great against Trinidad, and you can see a little ring rust but Joe wasn't convincing against Hopkins.....and RJJ could still beat Hopkins now.

This is also a good tactic but he can't be stepping back all fight because it wears on the legs.

I think the best tactic is a mixture of both of your opinions. When Calzaghe comes forward, Jones should take a half step or a step back to get Calzaghe off balance and than unload a counter right hand or counter combination.

When he starts feeling a little fatigue in his legs, move back to the ropes and try to time Calzaghe as he is coming in with straight right hands or uppercuts and try to punch in between Calzaghe's punches with straight shots.

I also think Jones needs to land something early to earn Calzaghe's respect, so that Calzaghe won't just be comfortable with rushing in and I think Jones should utilize his jab a bit more in this fight.

When he's standing on the ropes, he should maintain a high Winky-esque guard so that he won't get hit with any silly shots.

Terrible also made an interesting point, Jones doesn't really know how to tie up effectively, he should work on that too because I'm sure there will be times where he'll be feeling uncomfortable along the ropes and would want to get off of them.

      dont forget the two knockdowns...

he showed no stamina problems, and he threw plent of combinations, even a couple double and triple left hooks... not that tito is joe calzaghe, but the point is, he was throwing them...

i agree Silencers ,especially about getting Calzaghe respect ,Joe dismissed Hopkins thinking he would plough right through him because of his age and wound up on the canvas after 2 rounds ,after that he fought a very tentative fight from there on his workrate was ineffective IMO, it was Hopkins inactivity that was the deciding factor in this fight and the fact Hopkins best work was going backwards which the judges clealry did not appreciate

TBH i though Tito did very well for the first 4 rounds Roys attacks seemed very sporadic up untill then

I think it will take place in Wales, Jones said it was the American's turn 2 go UK after Hatton n Calzaghe went US for their fights.

Exactly. Jones has to make Calzaghe respect his power and make him become a little tentative.

I hope it is in Wales, because I think Jones really wants that on his legacy. It will be legendary to go beat Joe in front of so many of his fans!

Calzaghe sounded like he was showing compassion to Pavlik. "I don't want to whoop his ass and derail his fast speed career............for now"

Hahahah Joe knows the score, Pavlik gets finished by Calzaghe, bad style matchup that will lead to Pavlik getting his confidence shattered and never being the same fighter again.

I'm not surprised by this move. Joe wants to stick to that corny moniker "Legend Killer"; a moniker which in reality means that Joe is not a legend but a janitor of legendary careers, cleaning up distinguished boxers in their twilight.

Bernard never looked older than in his last fight, and if his work rate was even 25% higher he would have beat Joe, possibly scoring another knockdown.

                      Calzaghe just exposed his self.
