That "skinny *****" would take your ****ing head off.
And, he beats Kessler too, imo.
I still gotta say it's a coin toss. If Pavlik's chin weren't just a tad questionable (not to say he's exactly chinny, mind you, but he's very hittable, and hurtable, if you'll pardon the expression), and if he were a little less intent on moving straight forward, I'd probably give him the edge myself, but as it stands, I think he'll be catching just as much as he throws. It'll probably come down to either who's got the better chin, or who's got the better work rate. He's got bucketloads of heart, to his great credit, and I think that if he had another year or 3 experience I'd be picking him for a clear win, but he's still pretty young and has only recently been at top levels of competition.
LMAO, 42.86% think Kessler beats Pavlik, yet only about 30% think Calzaghe will beat Pavlik. Calzaghe beat Kessler yet Kessler has a better chance of beating Kelly - LMAO gimme a break.
Kessler has solid footwork, but by no means would I say it is excellent. Taylor has excellent footwork, Mayweather, Calzaghe, Hopkins, etc. Kessler is very mechanical. His greatest asset is his discipline. While his heart stands strong, his stamina as well, I'd say Pavlik is in better shape(bigger man in a lighter division just pure logic) and has a big heart as well. Pavlik hits like an anvil, dude straight hits hard, his jab reaches half way across the ring and pounds your head back, and his work rate is unbelievable at middleweight for a skilled fighter(he's efficient and accurate).
Kessler is a work horse and hits hard as well, but watch Taylor's face in the Pavlik Taylor 1, you watch Taylors head go back, then his face(I watched it so many times it was awesome, never seen anything like it). Kessler doesn't have the natural tools that Taylor has, I'd say Taylor hits around as hard as Kessler, and Pavlik made it through it, in fact he punished him.
I haven't seen a fighter hurt someone with their jab that consistently since Ike Quartey. If you worry about a jab, how are you going to see that straight right, Taylor sure didn't see it in the first fight. His jab is demanding and that is the key to the fight, Pavlik has the better, stronger, more accurate jab. That can win a fight and would more then likely win this one.
The thing about Pavlik, he is not real fast, has solid foot work, ok defense, but a work mans attitude, he just doesn't look special(I'd say Taylor is more talented), but when you watch a few of his fights you can see and understand he is a good fighter that CAN be a great fighter.
I am by no means saying Kessler can't win, but I don't think he can out jab Pavlik and that is what sets Pavlik up for everything.
^^^You think that "Taylor hits around as hard as Kessler"?
Kessler hits much, much harder.
I'd say Taylor's punching power is more effective due to his speed though, if you don't see it coming it hurts a lot more.
By no means am I calling Kessler slow but Taylor has more fluid combination which IMO is way more effective then one punch at a time, Kessler combinations aren't nearly as effective. Even Pavlik says Taylor hits like a Mule.
I'd say Taylor is right up there in terms of power, when you look at his combinations and speed. Kind of reminiscent of Mayweather, he puts his punches together well, and they are more effective for this reason. However I'd say that Taylor does have alot of power and uses it effectively.
The only guys that went 12 rounds with Taylor are ex champions and a guy that hadn't been knocked out. His other decisions were 2 four rounders, one 8, and one ten. He has power, he just has a solid resume.
