I made a long post about comparing Kessler and Pavlik a while back. Basically I pointed out that Kelly throws more punches per round than Kessler, which is a pretty significant difference. Also, although Kessler is always fit, I think Kelly has better stamina. He is as active in the 12th as he is in the 1st. And the heart and will factor is also significant, I think Kelly wins there. As for power, I just don't think Kessler is more powerful than Pavlik. There is no evidence whatsoever to back that up. Kelly's power could easily transfer to 168. So to say Kessler is just Pavlik+ is completely misguided. I picked Kelly in an entertaining UD.

P.S. All those Euros screaming bias by the Americans are complaining because we're not picking your guy Kessler, not because you want us to be more objective. Take a long look in the mirror.

It would open the cognitive dissonance vortex if they picked him to lose to anyone right now, hence the new poll results.
All who picked Pavlik, save three, are new to the site.

Uhhh he has precious little late round experience. He did fade in Taylor 2, so I'd call his stamina mediocre-to-good, not elite like a Calzaghe, Mayweather, etc.

I think that Americans are more likely to biased because although a Dane and a Brit are both European, they are both more likely to identify on a national level rather than a continental one. Pavlik is your countryman but Kessler is not mine. I have no reason to back someone from mainland Europe over an American, infact it's more likely to be the other way around in most cases.

I like both Kessler and Pavlik and if they fought I am not sure who I would cheer for.

Don't get me wrong, I am not accusing anyone in this thread of bias(especially not you as your post was a good one), but generally speaking I do think that Americans are more likely to have a pro-America bias than a Brit is to have a pro-Denmark bias.

Kessler by a comfortable decision. Pavlik will have his moments though.

Here, take these seeds of knowledge, bury them in your back yard, and in about 4 months, eat those seeds. They contain boxing knowledge and legti opinions. Pav i think has the style to beat kessler. If Pav can duck the right hand of kessler, he wins by ko. I think both fighters will connect on each other, but Kessler could not take it to the body in the Cal fight, and that is something Pav specializes in. Kessler throws straight punches, lockett and taylor threw wide, so i do give kessler a chance to connect. I just think Pav's offense would be a bit too much for the Dane.

You are definitely the first person I have ever heard use that term when describing the stamina of Pavlik. Kelly threw alot of punches in the 11th and 12th, and landed 44 of them. I didn't know that was mediocre. Does Kessler usually throw and land that many in the championship rounds?

Also, I have nothing to go on except one 12 round fight for Pavlik, but in it he proved he can be consistent for 12 rounds, so I'm not sure how lack of experience leaves questions of his stamina, when he's already proven he can **** for the entire fight. Unless he plans on slacking off for a Kessler fight, I don't see that bout being any different.
