THis fight wont happen cause they wont fight outside the states and joe wont fight here against someone like Pavlik and Joe knows he will lose so why risk his 0. If it were to happen I think Joe would do his usual sloppy slapping and eventually Pavlik would catch him with a thudering 1-2. Pavlik by K.O round 7.

Some of you clearly don't know boxing.
Kelly Pavlik is made for Joe Calzaghe. A come-forward fighter who punches straight is perfect for him. Kelly will eat up jabs and straight lefts all fight. I'm a fan of them both, but the only way Kelly wins this one is if he lands an absolute bomb and finishes Joe off. Joe's chin may be too good for that though.
Maybe Joe will be weight drained making 168 again or perhaps he'll just get old over night, but I don't see it. Calzaghe by UD.Comment

All Calzaghe has to do is move right and throw right hooks all fight.
He has better and faster movement and Kelly won't be able to catch him or see the hooks coming.
Easy nights work.Comment

Obviously that's not ALL, but that will most definitely be the basis of his gameplan.
Think about it, you're a southpaw, fighting a guy with a big straight right. You move around his jab (to your right, or his left) so he can't nail you with the right, and throw your right hook over his jab with your superior handspeed. He won't see it coming, and is discouraged somewhat from throwing the jab as often.
Calzaghe is more than capable of doing this.
Or another thing he could do would be to slip the jab to the right, hard right to the body (the shot he used to almost stop the immovable Kessler), left uppercut as the hands and head come down.
There are a number of things Calzaghe can do to neutralise the right hand of Pavlik, but there is not much Pavlik can do with his 1,2 punching style to neutralise Calzaghe's awkward fighting style and unpredictable angles.Comment

Delusional huh?
OK, tell me where I was wrong?
To neutralise a big straight right, you move right. That's all you have to do, and if you can do it for 12 rounds, he can't nail you. Especially if his footwork is pretty shoddy and yours is up there with the best.Comment
