  • "Joe Calzaghe-Kelly Pavlik is My First Priority," Says Arum

Promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank is focused on placing WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelling Pavlik in the best fight possible - against undisputed super middleweight champ Joe Calzaghe of Wales. He would like the fight to take place in a Las Vegas venue in October. Calzaghe has said for some time that he wants to return to the ring in November. Arum told MaxBoxing/BoxingScene.com's Steve Kim that fight with Calzaghe has a good possibility of being made. [details]

        this fight needs to happen.

        What i want to happen:

pavlik TKO 11, while behind on all 3 judge's scorecards.

        what i think will happen:

        calzaghe MD, suffering 2-3 knockdowns.

Bob, don't waste your time. Calzaghe won't leave his backyard to fight a good fighter in his prime...

                  Talk about contradiction!!

For a while Arum was trying to land a Tito fight. It never came. In this interview he says he is not interested in Pavlik fighting Jones. That is fine also. But to say "Jones is old, let the young guys fight" is so ****** considering Jones beat Tito in his last fight and Calzaghe is no spring chicken either.

Will Roy Jones catch a break? Or is everyone wanting to avoid him because he is still very dangerous?
