A question for those boxing gurus out there.

What if pac beats hatton in a fantastic fashion by koing hatton, what will be pac status agt wise? Where do we put him at the atg rankings?

      Ricky Hatton

After a stellar 2005, Ricky Hatton, right, seemed destined for greatness. Since then, however, Hatton's legacy has taken a hit.
England's wildly popular "Hitman" looked like a lock for Canastota after his '05 campaign that included a beatdown of Kostya Tszyu, but his string of underwhelming performances since has "unlocked" him.

Hatton could use one more Hall of Fame-bound name like Tszyu on his record, and the best candidate close to his weight is Manny Pacquiao.

But Hatton, who appears to be flaming out at 29, could also clinch a spot with just a little more longevity. One more full year as undisputed junior welterweight champ, pushing his reign to four years, would be helpful. An upset loss to Paulie Malignaggi in November, on the other hand, could be devastating.
A win over Pacquiao would of course be a big name on his resume but people will say afterwards that Pacquiao doesn't belong at 140 and is too small.

We still haven't seen how he will do at 135 yet anyway, jumping the gun a little.

trust me if he beats pacman then it would do more for his career then if delahoya beat pacman...

dont you guys get it hatton and pacquiao are similar in size the advantage is hatton walks around at 190 pounds...while pacman walks around at 155.

this is what pisses me off you get a great match up like this and people already knocking it...just enjoy fights for crying out loud!

Let Pac adjust to 135 and see how it goes for him. If he knocks out Diaz which might be the case then he should take at least another 2 or 3 fights at 135 before moving up to 140.

It would be good but I think Hatton is alot stronger than Pac - I would root for the Pac but I dont see him winning

but you gonna discredit hatton if he knocks pacman silly?

listen man...when floyd jr fought hatton floyd jr fought a small guy movin up 7 pounds! but does that take away from floyd jrs win? everyone said he would mollywop hatton right?

why is it you people wanna act like this win will be nothing because its expected?

how do you guys know that?

pacman is tough as nails and they are the same AGE, Similar height! and pacman has a longer reach so its a good fight.

just enjoy it ok...too many boxing fans ruining boxing saying this is a mismatch but the funny thing is its more credible fight then oscar vs pacman/hatton.

              true

David Diaz is tough as nails and would be a good meter to see how pacman would fair against hatton.

I actually see pacman vs diaz being so tough and dirty fight...pacman wont knock him down or out.

David diaz if you look at him is tough and hungry and he hits harder then any guy pacman faced.

yes he would be considered up there however all time greats are there for a reason. look at Roberto Durans Career he basically fought at pacquiaos initial weight and moved up to middleweight and fought the BEST.

Pacquiao would have to fight Kelly pavlik like Duran fought hagler and hearns.

lmao pacman wouldnt have to fight pavlik to be duran! pacman is basically the mini duran and duran didnt start at 106 pounds....

Duran was also much bigger then pacquiao.

I'm not a guru. But Manny is a great one, in my eye's. Started at 106, and has two hall of fame pelts on his wall. Manny is that dude....
