No-one is trying to say that these are the kind of wins that put you at the top of the game, they aren't, they are however solid defences for a champ to make. You know it and I know it. Nobody is saying Calzaghe was a P4P fighter back then, his wins don't prove he was, but getting past all those guys did prove he was the best in that particular division at the time. Calzaghe's P4P status exists NOW, not then and is based on his undefeated record yes, but much more on beating Lacy, Kessler and Hopkins.

I agree with you and also would like to see Calzaghe fight Pavlik and Dawson, but the Dawson fight is not on the cards, so Pavlik will do for me.

Get this straight. Calzaghe is a gay slapper that know one likes except some questionable men/boxing fans that are most likely sexually attracted to him.

calzaghe has an awkward way of moving and punching and does at times slap instead of punch. at this point in pavlik and calzaghes careers, unless calzaghes body fell off like vargas in his rematch with mosley, calzaghe would put him away inside of ten

Calzaghe can punch, none of his opponents say he slaps AFTER the fight. Hopkins, one of the most disrespectful fighters around, didn't mention Joe slapping after the fight. I wonder why that is?Edit: just noticed this too, but you have kind of nullified your own arguement with that picture. Look at Calzaghe's eyes. His head is clear and he knows exactly where he is and what is going on.

You didn't watch Hopkins' comments after that fight, did you? If you did you would know full well Bernard repeatedly commented on how Joe hits like Hopkin's sister. That's straight from Bernard's mouth. If you didn't watch Bernard's comments, you shouldn't speak like you know what you're talking about.

Sakio also said he dont hit hard , so did Manfredo , to be honest I cant think of one fighter that fought him classed him as a hard puncher , these guys are just saying what they think its not a slur they fought him they should know , if they made positive comments Cals nuthuggers would be all yeh yeh , but the press dont inflate Joe so its bull**** and swept under the carpet .

For interest sake find a single opponent that says Pavlik dont kick like a mule , I dont think one exists .

Lockett said post fight that he did not see the punches coming. That one statement says a lot, let me explain.

Pavlik punches hard with everything he throws, but he never loads up or telegraphs even though he is not fast. He seems to like it when guys try to do a peekaboo defense as he will thread that needle and still get to them. he did it against Miranda, Taylor and now Lockett. He will even sometimes bat his opponents left glove away with a left hook and deliver a right hand behind it.

It is actually very precision technical stuff. It is those little things that will make him tough to beat.

Many want to see Winky fight him, but Winky and his peekaboo is made for Pavlik. it will take a guy with very good head movement and footwork to beat him. Same thing will happen to Abraham, he likes Peekaboo also and will also get beaten down. I'll say this once more, Winky and Abraham will get slaughtered by Pavlik!!!

Joe has the best chance being awkward and a lefty. He will have to keep moving though and not square up. It is a good tough fight and whoever forces their style better wins the fight. If they fight both will have a key to victory and whoever wants it more wins.

Calzaghe hits 3X harder than Taylor went he wants to sit down on his punches.

Maybe 'cause he took plenty of time off during the fight. What did he throw, a dozen punches per round? Yep, that's real tiring. Oh, also that 5 minute break after the "low blow". He wasn't hurt, he just needed time to recover from the pace, and I can't believe the ref let him get away with it. Also can't believe he let him get away with the intentional headbutts, constant holding, and so many other things. Anyway, that's why he looked relatively fresh...he did very little during the fight, and had a nice break in the last half.

Because Hopkins took a dive to get a breather.

Calzaghe is the Light Heavyweight champion, two divisions higher than Pavlik and has always fought at a higher weight class than him... Please to god don't tell me you think a 173 lbs Pavlik can out muscle Calzaghe who has fought guys as big as 190.

Watch at the end of round 5, Kessler moves in to pressure Calzaghe so Calzaghe just ties him up and hits him. Calzaghe is a big match spoiler, Pavlik wont be able to go to work.

YEA WELL MABEY BUT THIS ISNT A WRESTLING MATCH ITS A BOXING MATCH AND PAVLIK IS TOUGHER THAN JOE AND HITS 300X HARDER SO WHO GIVES A **** IF HE IS STRONGER CUZ THEY AINT WRESTLING!!!!!
