Kelly Pavlik is the first really good American white boxer since Willie Pep retired.

There have been a few decent ones like Quarry and Cooney (although none in my lifetime) but Kelly's the first bona fide top white boxer since Pep. There have been some world class white boxers in other countries such as Calzaghe, but none since Pep from the US.

He's the only currently active American white fighter I like, because he's the only one that's really good. Pavlik is the real deal.

After the taylor fight the amount of pavlik avis multiplied by 100 and by another 20 or 30 after his last 2 fights.

And all the "Blue collar small town boy" bull**** from the boxing commentators etc is ****ing lame and very cheesy, they could just come out and say hey we finally got a white boy who's white american instead of spanish speaking guy, black guy, or russian guy.

The whole thing is nauseating and the sooner pavlik gets KTFO the better. Taylor shouldve finished the **** when he had the chance.

oh and he is good but definately overrated. the way he fights is basic and he's hittable dont forget taylor and miranda both put him down/hurt him bad

if he goes up to super mid he will get ktfo he's way too big for his division so thats inevitable. If Bernard is still around when he moves up he will school him.

Cmon dude, He knocked out both Miranda and Taylor. He got up from the Taylor fight pretty fast and didnt lose his legs like I thought he might.

He is smarter than you think, His style may be conventional but he chooses his shots and counters very good. Plus he has great heart.

The people who think that some "Great White Hope" conspiracy is in action to over-hype this guy need to get a grip, wake up, and recognize that he is already fulfilled the challenge of becoming the Middleweight Champion of the World....there's no hope in that, only the reality of what already is. You don't have to love him or think he's the best ever, just understand that he isn't some wistful "hope" for anyone anymore.
