It's not a matter of race for me or that he lives & grew up 35 mins from me, it is the fact that you can get excited when you see his name on a fight PPV card because you know that you are in for some hard hitting action. That's more than you can say for Mayweather or many others.

That's the main reason that he is easy to get behind and he's an easy target for HBO and other media outlets to bill him the white blue collar kid. Because he knocks people out, he doesn't duck anyone, he's fun to watch & he's not an arrogant prick.

There are/has been plenty of other white fighters in the past who couldn't fit that bill.

Pavlik fits that image like a glove, so they run with it. Who cares.

For example, when Ricky Hatton won a dominating victory over Ben Tackie in 2003, Al Bernstein on Showtime went on and on about how Tackie who had just turned 30 was "old", as if to discredit Hatton's excellent performance. But when Tackie fought Holt on Showtime earlier this year at age 34, he praised Holt without mentioning Tackie's age being a factor.

alot but when he fights its always the same thing, run and slap
and he only fights opponents with minimal boxing skills he
retires at what ? 31 ?!! when there is mosley and cotto waiting for him

and he beats them all in devastating fashion. mayweather would rather
