It’s awesome that Pavlik is the best American fighter now because of Mayweather retirement. Most of MMA fans are white so hopefully Pavlik may bring the white American fans back to boxing.

I think the opposite and i've said it before white America always talks down on most white fighters Gatti being the acception or maybe not talk down but always want them to beat king kong to prove they are not over hyping some bum and this doesn't seem to happen to other fighters.

And let me be the first? to say this, Kelly Pavlik has gotten better, his defence is better and his technique is getting better. Give him a year and he'll rule the super middleweights but i'd like him to stay at middleweight.

For once I agree with you....I like MMA, but I love boxing way more, it takes way more skill to be a professional boxer....There are lots of great white fighters in boxing, but Pavlik stands out because he is a white American...Americans have always wanted a top p4p great white American fighter in boxing, now they've got one, Pavlik can be a huge superstar in boxing and save the sport in America, he has already brought in more fans from all races and inspired more kids to take up boxing in America.

I like Pavlik too. He's an exciting fighter to watch and he deserves recognition. The problem I have is with his whiteness being a selling point.
