I agree with you Ryno although it's certainly possible it could be Calzaghe or Lewis.

Puerto Rico curently has 3 world champions soon to be 4 in just a couple of hours. There are also 5 ex world champions that are currently active fighters. And a semi retired ex world champion sure HOF in Tito Trinidad.

            3 World Champions
            Miguel Cotto
            Carlos Quintana
            Ivan Calderon

            Soon to be Champion
            Juan Manuel Lopez

            5 Ex World Champions

how come hes so highly regarded? and Im not challenging anyone, I really want to know, because Im not too familiar with fighters before the 1960s.

he doesnt look all that fantastic from the little video Ive seen of him, but of course, thats not much...

and his record looks nice, at 137-5, but a ton of his opponents had very few fights, if any. http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...boxer&pageID=3

and then he had title defences against guys like George Clark and **** Heasman who had never fought professionally before and never won professional match in their career. and then others were against guys like 'Young Zulu Kid' who just did not have a good record at all...doesnt look that great.

                someone care to educate me?

Wilde went undefeated in 103 bouts. That alone, is enough to make him one of the best we have ever produced.

Even if the guy had been fighting tomato cans, to stay that dominant for that long is a tremendous achievment.

Wilde has been rated in the top 3 pound for pound punchers in boxing history, most boxing writers have him 1st. He was knocking out champions 2 and 3 weight divisions above him.
From what I've seen he was unbeatable at his own weight, he lost fighting boxers 15lbs+ heavier.
