But its his ability so theres no point in even imagining Roy jones without it.

What does Floyd have that is Uncanny???? -- Nothing but good work ethic and stamina.... He got that defense from his father/uncles.. That defense can be taught and someone can be that good at it if they practiced the same thing every day from the age of 3 such as Floyd did. His speed is an illusion of his footwork and body movement. He's fast... But not Roy jones behind the back.... uppercut from the floor.. hands wide open hook you still...4 hooks in a row... wind up right hand fast. Roy Jones has a Gift. Floyd doesn't have those same gifts.

So why is floyd so good? Because he has learned and internalized certain things and basics in his mind. Nothing about roy jones is basic... If someone who doesn't have the TALENTS of roy jones trys to fight like him.. THEY will be knocked out by boxers the calibur of which roy jones has fought. point blank.

Skill... Ring generalship. Mayweather knows at every minute exactly where he is and always has room to pivot as soon as he reaches within a few inches to the rope. THAT TAKES skill... of course not knowing where you are with the ropes can lead to being ko'd by the ropes or on the ropes.. and leave you squared trying to evade side ways. NOT good...if your into not getting hit.

Skilled in evading and percision... he is very elusive.. you will be hard pressed to land a good percentage on floyd. he reigns in that category in Boxing as a WHOLE. that means in all of boxing he is the hardest to hit while hitting you and having a great accuracy count as well.

Skilled defense.....We all know his defense... and it is something that can be taught... Will you matser it? Depends how long you practice and how early you can start.. just as floyd learned from his fathers and uncles.

Floyd doesn't have the power with the bigger guys as he did at 130... but its still good. His speed isn't what it was at 130... but its still good...even better when matched against baldo or gatti.

Roy has moved up and down and always kept that blazing speed. and Great reflexes. if he loses that he's not roy "Mr incredible" jones...

Now my last argument... Which of these boxers would you have a easier time imitating and winning fights with their exact style. Given 10 years practice?

Remember you have to use your OWN talents though. ....

anyone understand where im coming from? I tried to explain the best as i could. Its of course all my opinion though.

i stopped reading there.... if you dont have skill... then you cant put that talent to use..........

just because u can run fast doesnt mean your an NFL running back

just because you have quick reflexes isnt gonna make you a 4 division champ

    you BETTER have skill...

Yea.... Takes less skill to be good if you have TALENT though.... feel what im sayin?

More talent...makes up for less skill.

More skill makes up for less natural Talent.

Feel me? Not saying roy doesn't train because he has so much talent... of course he trains.. But he will be better than most because of that talent.

Reggie bush made it to the NFL on Pure Talent and did great in college... now you see his skill isn't as much as everyone thought. it was all talent.

Now the guy on the vikings is FAST.. but not as fast as reggie... but he doin better because he has skill.

Barry sanders had skill. take his speed away and he would still have those eyes above the field... but would he be as good.

I was just trying to state the difference.. and there is a gap there between jones and mayweather.

woulda been a good fight in primes.. wish i coulda saw it.

For instance, the body shot to ****** hill..... roy kept giving him the over hand right, over and over... eventually he realized virgil hill was expecting it, and he went underneath to the body... and BAM body KO... thats not talent, thats skill, thinking ability...

                thats just one example

so many people try to say.. he was just a good athlete... thats why he did so good...

well go take kobe bryant, throw some gloves on him and see well he does... roy is a whole lot more than just, athletically gifted... he been doin it since he was a teenager.. im sure he knows a thing or two

Yes he had amazing talent but that's not why he was a great boxer. If that's the case, anyone with athletic ability could've done what Roy did...but that's not the case. At all.

What does Floyd have that is Uncanny???? -- Nothing but good work ethic and stamina.... He got that defense from his father/uncles.. That defense can be taught and someone can be that good at it if they practiced the same thing every day from the age of 3 such as Floyd did. Floyd doesn't have those same gifts.
I'm not talking about behind the back punches. I'm talking SKILLS. The ability to throw three precise hooks in succession, uppercuts back to back in perfect form. That takes YEARS in the gym to learn - that takes SKILL.

Completely disagree. Will touch on this later.

You're right. However, there was NO BETTER ring general than Roy Jones Jr. NONE. Not Floyd, not Toney, not Hopkins. I don't understand your rope comment? When was a prime Jones KO'ed period? ****, I don't recall Jones being KO'ed against the ropes ever anyway.

Skilled in evading and percision... he is very elusive.. you will be hard pressed to land a good percentage on floyd. he reigns in that category in Boxing as a WHOLE. that means in all of boxing he is the hardest to hit while hitting you and having a great accuracy count as well.
Roy Jones is the only fighter to go a round without getting hit. Did you watch this guy at all in the nineties. He got hit FAR LESS than Floyd. I have both their career sets, have spoken to them each several times and have written about them countless times. Floyd is an excellent defensive fighter - better than Roy simply because he used SKILL here (I said this before). But Jones got hit less...way less.
Skilled defense.....We all know his defense... and it is something that can be taught... Will you matser it? Depends how long you practice and how early you can start.. just as floyd learned from his fathers and uncles.
                  Agreed.

Floyd doesn't have the power with the bigger guys as he did at 130... but its still good. His speed isn't what it was at 130... but its still good...even better when matched against baldo or gatti.
It's very underrated. Mayweather hits HARD. But...not harder than Roy.
Roy has moved up and down and always kept that blazing speed. and Great reflexes. if he loses that he's not roy "Mr incredible" jones...
Yeah, and if Muhammed Ali was slow he'd be a bum. If Mayweather was slow he'd be a bum too. If Tito didn't have any power he'd be a bum. If my Aunt had balls she'd be my Uncle.

Now my last argument... Which of these boxers would you have a easier time imitating and winning fights with their exact style. Given 10 years practice?
Your last argument to prove what? You spent the whole time bigging up Floyd but failing to point which SKILLS were better? Defense? I said this already. But we're talking boxing here. Come on man, that was weak. And Neither of those styles are easy, are you kidding me? You think there's any fighter on Earth who can do the things Floyd did against Zab in avoiding some of those punches? That took ATHLETIC ABILITY. AND SKILL. Something you need BOTH of in order to do what Roy and Floyd do.

I though Talents means that you learned and master skills faster than the rest
