He signed to fight, he shouldn't be given time out. 43 or not.

If you watch carefully Calzaghe won R9 very easily, landing some good shots. He through some harder ones that landed, other even harder that didn't connect, credit to Hopkins defence and movement. I think Hops was avoiding hard shots that take time to throw, all night long.

Enzo Calzaghe's such a nutter/legend lol. After R9 he's saying to Joe; you won the last 4 rounds clearly, this guys ready to get knocked out. Then later doesn't he say your losing Joe? Guy totally contradicted himself, either due to ******ity, heat of the moment, or saying it merely to urge Calzaghe on more. Perhaps a mixture of the 3, but a con is that some have used it in their argument of "several ppl had Hops winning". Well Enzo didn't really, he said the contrary after R9.

Given the advice, Joe did go out gunning in R10, possibly looking for a TKO which woulda been possible, and perhaps a KO, unlikely but possible. He wasn't trying to land hard a lot of the time, despite saying he would, in the ring that wasn't working. Per commentators, he had to shorten his punches and get outa there to not get caught, which won him the fight.

Hopkins knew Calzaghe was coming with some venom and harder shots in R10, he was ****ing running all round the ring lol. No wonder he time wasted. We'd have seen a very different R10 if it wasn't for that.

lol at the thought of Hopkins getting knocked out. He's too good to get knocked out by Calzaghe who pounded Lacy for 12 rounds and got only one very questionable knock down.

But yer Hopkins needed a breather.

Hopkins blagged his way through most of the fight. If you need more ammo to prove this I'll post some of headbutts he did on Calzaghe on YouTube. Disgraceful, Cortez had a birds eye view of them and did nothing.

Hopkins typical headbutt followed by a punch nearly everytime during later rounds. The guy's a fraud.

Nothing more said other than unlikely but possible. Sorry you can say it's not gona happen all day. Fact is it's possible, much stranger things have happened in the ring. To rule something out totally just because the odds are against is ******, the unlikely often happens in sport.

Calzaghe was going forward throughout nine but he was missing virtually every punch, he looked terrible frankly, like he did throughout the entire fight. He only won because Hopkins' legs got tired and father time began to grind on the champ. Pure and simple. A prime Hopkins would've murdered that boy, no question.

The chances of Calzaghe KOing Hopkins are very small. Hopkins was way more likely to knockout Calzaghe, he punches deceptively hard. You saw him knock him down.

Here come the spoilers repeating the same thing.

Hopkins weren't that tired against Tarver or Wright, infact quite the contrary. He was known to save energy and win later rounds, when his younger opponents tired. You still expect ppl to give much credit to the, oh he's old and tired all of a sudden. Such a lame, simplistic excuse with little to back it up, if anything to the contrary.

Calzaghe was out working him, out boxing him, chasing him, being the aggressor, which Hopkins couldn't handle. Calzaghe as usual in his fights, was also being more effective later on as he adapted so suite, that's another key reason for Hopkins being less effective, and spending his energy on defending himself.

You don't win fights with that, he coulda spent more energy on attack as a means of defence, which he never did. All his energy went into spoiling Calzaghe and not letting Calzaghe clearly win, by moving, defending, countering, running, time wasting. It was pride, which we all know Nard has stacks of.

Hopkins best weapons against Calzaghe were the 3 things he had at such superior levels only post 40. These were Defence, countering, spoiling. So it's more objective and backed up, to say Hopkins best chance of beating Calzaghe was post 40.

Prime Hops woulda lost more with worser defence, countering and spoiling. He'd lose punch trades, be more open, be outboxed, get hit more, and hurt more. Face it, and let it be, most agree.

"Short punches which are designed to be accurate and land". That's the most friendly description of Calzaghe's slaps I've ever heard.
