Calzaghe was getting in the zone round 9, really finding his rhythm so Bernard has to fake a low blow to get a breather and to stop Calzaghe knocking him out.
This fight just goes to show how subjective scoring boxing matches is.
Hopkins got dealt with in my eyes. He made rounds messy, and untidy leading to confusion in scoring. But he was still on his bike not throwing enough punches. Hopkins is good at what he does.
Hopkins threw single eyecatching shots, but Calzaghe shortened his punches and landed some good **** throughout.
If it wasn't for the KD Calzaghe would have won the first round too and won the fight 118-110.
It really wasn't a close fight...
Whilst i think Calzaghe clearly won the fight, there isn't much point saying if Bhop didn't get the KD that it would have been wide, as it did happen so who really cares.
I didn't really care that he milked the low blow as it hit close to it but clearly above in slow motion, but it was just a pain in the arse at the time, sitting there for what seemed like an eternity waiting for them to get back down to business. I suppose i was annoyed with how long he actually milked it for.
