I don't know why everybody insists on talkin about MMA **** on NSB. Don't MMA organizations have their own sites and forums?

mma traces it's roots to vale tudo in brazil which pitted boxers , wrestlers , kickboxers , karate and jiu-jitsu guys in brazil. the reason wrestling is involved predominantly is because it was so effective in that sport.
wrestling is a corny part of the sport.........we need more cung lee's........nobody wants to see them wrestle...........and MMA skills can be traced back to many cultures.........

In boxing, their is no TAPOUT. If your tired you cant simply slap the canvas and the fights over. In boxing, you dont get to lay on the ground, believe me it takes alot more energy to stand then to lay. I know this because I am human. In boxing, if you fall down, you have 10 seconds to stand your ass back up and fight! In boxing their is no clenching, grappling or holding, only fighting, you dont get the luxury of being able to hold on for dear life when you get tired. If you do get tired, the only thing you can do is keep fighting! And that ladies and gentlemen is what fighting is!

            1. They realize that Boxing is a classical distinct sport..............and has it's own steady fan base that isn't easily compromised

            or

            2. They become jealous, spiteful and try to demean mixed martial arts.
those aren't the only 2 sides.............and what boxing historians are you talking about?????.........jealousy plays not part in not liking MMA.....every big show they have is on ppv......they try to say these guys make more money than boxers.........lol.....get the heck out of here with that........compare the biggest ppv card for both sports and boxing is killing MMA.........

MMA is just swool bar fighters. Theres no skill behind it (compared to athletes, cause they would beat any regular joe from the streets i give them that)

But they throw some wild haymakers that would be countered by a boxer and then wrestle on the floor for 5 minutes just rubbing each other

kinda agree with you. i never post a thread about mma in here but i like mma and if someone brings it up i'll defend it.

can't the moderators move threads like this to the other forum or delete it?

                    that's not a fair assessment.

no skills? maybe no boxing skills. but to say no skills is incorrect.

the reason they throw some wild haymakers is you have to understand that most don't come from a boxing background. if you've been studying jiu-jitsu or wrestling all your life how does that teach you to correctly throw a correct punch?

they might lack boxing skills but that doesn't mean they have no skills. if a boxer tries to wrestle after years of nothing but boxing training wouldn't he looked unskilled in a clinch or rolling on the ground too?

people forget nobody starts learning mma at an early age maybe if it gets real popular but nobody takes their 13 yr. old kid and sends him to a mma gym. most mma guys have wrestling or jiu-jitsu background that's why they don't look good punching.

i dont see much of any defensive skills either, hence the reason for so many knockouts. and that's why its so popular, because their IS so many knockouts
