    **MMA Vs Boxing arguments**

Alright check it out guys, honestly im quite tired of this whole debate between the two sports but it just seems like, no matter what i do i cant dodge the crossfire so I have to get back in the fight. So if a boxer and a mma fighter actually fought what do u guys think the outcome would be?

honestly i think all the boxer would have to do is avoid the mma fighter for about 10-15 minutes cuz thats about as long as they can go then it'll be all downhill for the mma fighter from there. anytime he tries to come in and tackle him he would just have to uppercut his ass lol.

I just thought of a new way of comparing the two:

because everybody says ufc fighters will win simply because they have more "moves" and know different fighting styles.

Their are 2 artists. 1 artist is a boxer, and 1 artist is a ufc fighter. Artist number 1 comes equipped with just 1 finely sharpened pencil. Artist number 2 comes equipped with a huge briefcase filled with different types of paintbrushes and different art equipment. So they battle it out for hours working on individual portraits. But in the end the more skilled and harder working artist number 1 wins.

Moral- The artist with just a pencil has the capabilities of creating a fine work of art that is equal to or greater than the artists with the briefcase filled with different equipment.

there shouldn't be any debate. it's 2 different things. boxing is a part of mma and boxing is boxing.

in a mma fight the mma fighter will win the majority of the time. in a boxing match the boxer will win the majority of the time. just like the bears will beat the lakers in football and the dodgers would beat the bears in baseball.

now if you're talking about a streetfight? stay away for 10-15 minutes? when was the last time you saw a streetfight that lasted 10-15 minutes?

when was the last time you saw wrestling in a street fight? the majority of the time people are really close to each other in each others face.. fists get thrown and someone gets dropped. then the other dude towers over the person and kicks or continues to beat him on the ground..

You're tired of the debate, so you're ending it with a definitive boxer being victorious in a cross sports match up scenario?

        That's just priceless.

Last I checked however.........Mixed Martial Artists are accustomed to taking punches that are hooded by 3 oz gloves. So 1 single uppercut isn't going to work unless the boxer in mention has power.

Also it's not that easy to "avoid" many of those guys. I mean sure there are some that are fat and slow........and look for the brawl. But I mean..........you can't run from a guy like Josh Koscheck.

He'll just chase after you, and he's a really fast athlete lol.

But I'm going to end my contribution to this thread with the classical answer that should be everyone's answer.

Under strict stand up boxing guidelines........a boxer wins in a 10-12 round fight. In a no holds barred 3 or 5 5 minute round cage fight..........the mixed martial artist wins. Two separate sports.

I honestly feel like a boxer would win in an MMA ring.. Those MMA dudes fight incredibly ******. A boxer would pick them apart..

And I'm talking not just any bum boxer.. I'm saying if you put the top guys in boxing and the top guys in MMA together..

Speed and agile boxers (i.e. of course Floyd Mayweather) would be able to keep a ****** MMA fighter off of them and use their speed.

              Boxers are smart fighters.

MMA fighters are just glorified bar room brawlers..

MMA is corny because they wrestle............nobody wants to see men wrestle unless it is in the high school, college or the olympics.......lol........that is what makes the sport so corny...........the wrestling aspect of MMA.........

in my experience the majority of the time grabbing is involved. i wouldn't call it wrestling 'cause most of the time the two guys rolling on the ground don't know what they're doing.

every streetfight starts off with punching so boxers would have an advantage but what happens is in the first few seconds it becomes clear who is the better puncher/striker and the guy losing we'll grab the other person. now if he doesn't know what he's doing it wouldn't matter because the other person will just keep punching him. but if the guy is a technically proficient wrestler it makes a big difference.

try rolling on the mat with a much more proficient wrestler and you'll realize it. technique in wrestling , just like in boxing , can offset size.

finally somebody i can agree with. ufc fighters are dumb, they have no defensive technique or stamina whatsoever, hence the reason for so many knockouts
