look buddy . mo harris who sparred with tyson and lewis said tyson hit harder. corrie sanders who sparred with wlad and tyson said tyson hit harder. This is the old tyson . the young tyson hit harder than shavers or foreman. Is Tysons KO power overrated: Yes.
Is Tyson a devastating puncher: Yes.
Is he in the top 20 hardest punchers: Maybe.
Is he a harder puncher than Wlad: No.
Wlad has KO'd better competition.
Tyson is made out to be some kind of collosus puncher by myth.
He was human, and some durable guys took him the distance.
But an argumant can be made to suggest against my claim.
Take a common opponent for instance: Francois Botha.
Tyson KO'd him after losing for 4 rounds and Wlad dominated him and TKO'd him in the 8th. One would assomb that Tyson has more single punch power due to this. I think it is because he was more reckless and went for the KO ALL of the time. That is probably what makes Tyson so feared, but I dont think it makes him a bigger puncher. If you would really want to get technical, Lennox Lewis destroyed Botha in less than 2 rounds, and I think Tyson and Wlad both have more single punch power than him.Comment

His power is undeniable. He crushed Larry Holmes in four rounds and Holmes hasn't been stopped since, despite fighting into his damn fifties. And the fourth round was the only one where Mike really began to land clean punches (Holmes' had been spoiling like hell in the opening three and Mike treated him with a lot of respect). Lone behold, as soon as Mike lands a couple of clean shots, the refs stooping over Holmes reminding him what planet he's on.Comment

Too bad Tyson ducked an old Foreman, who was 20-0 with 19 KOs on his comeback trail (and Holyfield for that matter) to fight a 42-1 underdog journeyman named Buster Douglas. Prime Foreman slaughters Tyson and Cus told Mike as much.
Lol at bringing up his fight with an old, fat, out of shape, inactive Holmes, who didn't even try to fight Tyson.Last edited by Jim Jeffries; 05-31-2008, 02:50 PM.Comment

LOL yeah too bad holyfield couldnt knock out that fat inactive holmes, neither could Oliver Mccal.
and it's ironic how a fat, inactive holmes beat a young and undefeated ray mercer who gave lennox lewis his toughest fight
you sir are acting like a complete assComment

Mike would destroy Foreman, Georges head is in the air, he had no defence and plodded forwards, he is TAILOR MADE for Tyson. Obviously George is a devastating puncher, but you don't just walk Tyson down throwing clubbing shots and uppercuts, you gotta be smart, you gotta use the jab, have a tight guard and hang in there waiting for your chances and counter-punching. I've seen almost all of Mikes fights, all of Georges noteworthys (he wasn't infallible, Lyle hurt him something terrible, had him on the floor a few times), I see Tyson bobbing and weaving, landing hooks and combinations to body and head on the inside and Foreman being bloodied and battered in savage fashion.Comment

Didn't a 34 year old Holyfield eat a 30 year old Tyson's best punches before stopping him? Tyson was exposed by journeyman Buster Douglas, yet you're still worshiping him, funny stuff.
And Foreman would batter Tyson around the ring worse than he did Frazier.Comment
