Tye fields won his first 12 fights by first round knockout, and is 41-1 with 37 knockouts. But his opposition was crap, and for the most part, so was Tyson's. Throw in an old, out of shape ex champ, and a blown up light heavyweight, and who do you have left that he really beat? Holyfield and Douglas exposed Mike for what he really was, a good, fast, hard hitting, aggressive small HW with good head movement that could string punches together in combinations. But with a lot of people thinking he could blow any HW in history out in the first round, he is certainly overrated, at least by some.

thats nice and all that your wrote all that but question wasn't was tyson overated. The question was his power overated.

and you said yourself he was powerful. So I dont know why your disagreeing.

Yes I realize Tyson's earlier fights were subpar opponents. But none the less he like Tye has a lot of power, and that was the question.

Yes he was powerful, but George Foreman, Earnie Shavers or Sonny Liston powerful? No, so is/was his power overrated? Yes. He fought fighters like Tony Tucker, Bonecrusher Smith, Mitch Green, James Tillis and Razor Ruddock, who went the distance with Tyson, but were knocked out by other, lesser fighters. Yet we get statements like "Tyson would KO Marciano in 30 seconds" or "Tyson would stop George Foreman easily."
