He did well in keeping his consistent pressure, but I never though he was gonna win the fight. He fought good. He's just not on Floyd's level.

What is funny is that the entire Hatton gameplan was based around the alleged strength advantage. Him and his camp spent the whole build up speculating that Floyd was weaker than him, then he got in the ring and found out otherwise. Whoops, there goes plan A and plan B and plan C and plan D, all down the drain. Mutha****a didn't have no contingency.

Floyd lives the life, his conditioning is ****in total, he has the allround strength that you just can't legislate for, the kind that can't be gotten by just isolating a few muscle groups with a few big weights.

I didn't think he did well at all and whenever Floyd turned up the heat Hatton was defenseless

Maybe it was nerves or a bad match up, either way, Hatton has had better nights

truth.com... going into the fight I always knew Hatton has a good workrate that never seem to tire, but prior to Dec. 8 I kept asking myself can Ricky keep up? After all Floyd's strategy is to discourage his opponents by making them swing air then him countering, Ricky had no plan but to put pressure on Floyd the way he knew how and if that didn't work...**** it, keep pressuring...Floyd was thinking all along about that check hook, baiting him until he slows down for the right timing..

He did well pressuring Mayweather and giving him a tough fight
What do u guys think of his performance?
LEt me ask you something. Watch it again and score it. If you can give him more than 2 rounds rewatch. Repeat until you realize that Ricky Hatton was being DOMINATED. It looked like he was doing alright because he was running into Mayweather's arms and holding on. Ricky Hatton didn't land **** at all. Floyd was continually tagging and hurting Hatton with big clean shots.

Hatton was making Floyd work harder than usual, but he wasn't landing the clean effective shots. Mayweather was.

Naturally, it took Manny Steward 9 rounds to mention this. Harold Lederman once again showed his love of ineffective aggression by giving Ricky 4 of the first 6 rounds.

I thought he did well in the first 6 rounds.

yup, i know all that ****.

                    i give a few examples:

                    - up to .33, he was touching gloves with that weird sounding little white guy. that is a really quick bridge used here to feel out and time the opponent. i catagorize this as a type of jab when using boxing terms. in anmore boxing term way of saying it, i call it a check jab or a bridging jab.

                    - approx .45, crossing fist. in my practice, we could spring in while throwing that. that way we basically decapitate him with a punch.

                    - after that one, the most common hook we use - called cannon punch although there are a few different hooks and ways to throw a hook.

                    - at 3:34, that is the exact way we use one of the most basic applications of splitting to crushing. almost exactly the same.

one of the differences is that we have specific coordination methods and focus on power. we are a power hungry bunch. and to help yourself have good power, u shouldn't keep your balance as high up as he does.

notice the way he slips from his blocks into offence immediately so that his defence is really his offence. read my second blog to get an idea of the kind of **** i do.

see, i never liked his attitude as shown in the media, but he has worked his way into having a very solid, smart style of fighting. that video just makes me want to spar him even more! i bet for u guys it would be nice to see how he deals with someone as coordinated and quickly adaptable as he is.
i will make a special trip if he ever comes near where i live. he'd be a fun guy to play with!

exactly. Ricky thought he was gonna through those power jabs that he landed in the first round all night and that he could be "explosively powerful" but he wore down quickly
