Floyd was a big favorite against Hatton. Calzaghe was a dog against Eubank. End of thread.
Is Calzaghe's win against Eubank bigger than Mayweather's win against Hatton?

hmmm....this is actually pretty close to me.
Eubank was surely past his best...but he wasnt shot. kind of like the Tszyu that Hatton fought. although I think Eubank was a little worse off than Kostya was, but then again Eubank was never really as good as Tsyzu.
I think Ill go for Eubank. its hard for me to decide though.Comment

It showed to a lot of people Mayweather was more then just a runner and beat Hatton at his own game. Also showed he had some pop at 147.Eubank was not quite the fighter he was, but he was far from shot, I mean you only have to watch the Calzaghe fight to see that. The fight was also a MASSIVE step up in class for a very green Calzaghe to move from facing unknown domestic champs and prospects to basically taking on a legend of the British ring to win a world title.
At the time Mayweather fought Hatton he was already p4p #1 and was a massive favourite against Ricky. It was a good win, certainly but it didn't show us anything new about Mayweather or prove anything.
For that reason I rate Calzaghe's victory over Eubank the better win.
Also Floyd was only the 2:1 favorite in the Hatton fight by the way.Comment

As has been said, post-Watson Eubank refused to a) throw his trademark bombs and b) press home an advantage with any kind of ferocity. By the time he fought Calzaghe he had turned himself into a touring pantomime villain. Finished as a fighter.
The Eubank that defeated Benn was better than all but RJJ (and he was just the kind of fighter who could make life difficult for Roy).
Eubank < Tsyzu?
Don’t be silly.Comment
