Is Calzaghe's win against Eubank bigger than Mayweather's win against Hatton?

    Eubank:

Shot to pieces/Way past his prime due to his wars in the ring against dangerous nigel benn and michael watson, eubank wasn't the same since those fight specially the Watson fight, Despite being way past his prime he gave calzaghe his toughest test which is a shame as Eubank took the fight on one week notice.

    Hatton:

Undefeated, In his prime, Two weight champion, Linear at 140, P4P No 7 at the time currently P4P #8.

      Eubank>Hatton.

Eubank was not at his best, but he wasn't shot to pieces either. Hatton wasn't at his best because his best is 140. Floyd's win was by KO, but Eubank was a lot harder to KO than Hatton.

A close call, but either way all these threads are pointless. Mayweather has a better record and is the better fighter, but those who feel differently aren't likely to change their minds just because of a bunch of polls.

        yea eubank wasnt shot

his two fights with nigel benn didnt do any damage at all, and his two fights with michael watson did **** all (end sarcasm)

eubank had about 4 gift decisions he wasnt winning fights convincingly as he wasnt hurting his opponents like he used to after he gave michael watson a brain injury. since watson he always became careful and lost much

          Nice description.

Eubank was 31 and far from a shot fighter, Hatton was a shrimp who moved up in weight to fight Gayweather.

31 year old Eubank >>> 30 year old Hatton moving up in weight

Eubank was not quite the fighter he was, but he was far from shot, I mean you only have to watch the Calzaghe fight to see that. The fight was also a MASSIVE step up in class for a very green Calzaghe to move from facing unknown domestic champs and prospects to basically taking on a legend of the British ring to win a world title.

At the time Mayweather fought Hatton he was already p4p #1 and was a massive favourite against Ricky. It was a good win, certainly but it didn't show us anything new about Mayweather or prove anything.

For that reason I rate Calzaghe's victory over Eubank the better win.

No, if you had actually seen more Eubank fights then you would know that he had controversial wins before the second Watson fight, such as...the first Watson fight! That's why they had a re-match. Check out the fight where Eubank headbutts someone in front of the ref, and when the guy cannot continue they go to the scorecards rather than DQing Eubank.

I see you're still mad about those polls that I did a few days back. That's alright though I don't mind coattail riders, enjoy the bus ride!
