Look Pacquiao won by a split closed decision. That 1 knockdown gave Pac the win.
As far as the media, even though they scored it for JMM, they said it wasn't a robbery. It was a closed fight that could have gone either way. Some even said that they must respect the judges decision and their decision must stand. They even said there rounds that are closed. Which means the rounds that they gave to JMM, they could have given to Pac. Remember also that if the media were together, don't you think they influence each other on the close rounds.
Lets look at the Ring magazine. When they see a ridicilous decision going to wrong fighter(what we call robbery) or a big margin scoring, the Ring mag has a term for them. Its called a "MAGOO". If you read their magazine, in almost issue they have one. Examples of magoo:
-Montiel vs Gorres, Montiel won but Ring mag and another mag has it for Gorres. Even with the 2 point deduction.
-Casamyor vs Santa Cruz, Casa won but the Ring, other media had it for Santa.
-Hopkings vs Forbes, Hop won but they had Forbes winning.
-JMM vs Barrera, JMM won and the Ring mag had it also for him but they have it i believed 115-113(corrections please) while 1 or 2 judges had it by a 5 point margin.
If you look also at the commenting of Jim Lampley. The way he comments on the fight, especially round 11, made the fans gave it to JMM. He said that JMM was landing rights. But if you look at the 11th round, JMM was landing air and at gloves.
I had it 115-112 for Pacquiao. I gave the 11th to Pac but 12th to JMM. Even their first fight, i had Pac winning the fight. First time, 115-110, 2nd time, 114-111.
As for the fans, when JMM said that the fans knew who won. On the LA TIMES article covering the fight, the Associated Press reporter mentioned that the fans are wrong people to base the fight. Fans is what they are, fanatics.
Whether your a nuthugger, hater, or unbias, the rematch is already in the history book. Pacquiao won by a split decision. JMM might be above the skills of Pacquiao, but Pac's power won him the rematch.
