Whoever wins on July 26th will not be the champion. No matter how much you wanna say the Cott/Marg winner is the champion after July, as long as PBF is still active he will still be champion until he loses that 0 (thats just how it is).

cotto could already be looked at as the welterweight champ being that he is the most accomplished at that weight division

Im not gonna call him the best just because he PROLLY could beat either of them. if that were the case, then Vladimir Klit is the Featherweight Champ because he can prolly beat all the Featherweights out there. Kessler is the lightweight champ because he could prolly beat all the lightweight champs there.

It is my opinion that Champions are Champions because they prove they are, not because they "could be". General Consensus is that Michael Jordan is the best basketball player that ever lived. But there are many that say Earl "The Goat" Manigoat was better than Michael Jordan. Well, he didnt prove he was.
michael jordan is the best athlete of all time!!!!!!!!! well maybe not all around athlete bo jackson, dion sanders, terrell owens are pretty great athletes but michael jordan is well michael jordan the best ever!!!

Whoever wins will be considered the best welterweight, but he won't be the champion.

This thread has a different light on it now that PBF is retired.

                      NO.

If Cotto wins he has to fight Williams.

If Marg wins..since he already lost to Williams...would have to fight him.

Then we would hae our welter weight champion.
