I really didn't want to say any more. i read at least 2 articles about the doctor telling the ref to stop the fight, plus TV discussions, and they came to the conclusion that the doctor must have made an honest mistake because it was clear that the under-eye cuts were very superficial, and that the eyebrow cut was under control, didn't impair his vision. [and he had complete control of his eyelid].Interviewed about the fight by HBO, the doctor explained his decision: "When he raised his head up, his upper eyelid covered his field of vision," doctor Paul Wallace said. "At that point I had no other option but to stop the fight. If he had to move his head to see me, there was no way he could defend his way against a punch."
He couldn't see. Another 6 rounds of Lewis jab and right Vitali may have been blind. Thankz to the doc Vitali become a paper champ. Lewis was starting to pick around the 6 rounds and Vitali with one eye come on like he would have won. No point about this debate. Lewis won the fight. HAHAHA
Vitali all time great what a joke.
And that, realising afterward that he'd made a boo-boo, made up the story about the drooping eyelid to cover himself.
I just looked up the doctor and he's had much experience, a nice looking man, looks very like Lennox Lewis himself. Even experienced people make mistakes, like Joe Souza did with his handling of that eyebrow cut.
Perhaps the doctor was distracted at that time. According to CNN's Sports Illustrated, Dr. Wallace was being investigated by the State of California because of strong Promoter and Insurance Company complaints, for "overbilling" by 3-4 times the normal amount for stitching up cuts. The article, written by Mike Fish, mentioned the "still developing case of Dr. Paul Wallace"...and conflicts of interest because of personal doctor-patient relationships between ringside doctors and boxers. 7 of the paragraphs concerned Dr. Wallace.
Wallace wasn't the only one, but, since he made an error with Klitschko, I'm suggesting a possible reason. He also discussed Laurence Cole the referee, who as an insurance agent, sold policies covering fight promotions.Comment

You are a bit of an "ass"- Indeed, more than somewhat. I don't deal in "shouda-Woulda etc and the other crap you love to repeat so much. I deal in verifiable facts, and I go to the trouble or both remembering them, and verifying them. A matter of self respect. You should do the same, and then you won't be caught with your "gatkes" down all the time.Comment

And I don't care who won or coulda-shoulda won. Never did. I merely correct foolish, irresponsible assertions which have no basis in fact. You are a bit of an "ass"- Indeed, more than somewhat.
