Mayweather is more complete. Roy was a far better offensive fighter however.
Who's the more complete fighter RJJ or Mayweather

i say mayweather, he can box, fight on the inside, counter punch, percise punches, and he has DEFENCE....roy doesnt really have D other than relying on his reflexes early in his career, if you watch roy whenever someones goes on the offensive he covers up and backs into the ropes and lets em wale on em
while dodging head punches, smothering body punchers and landing very quick counter blows.
in his prime he would let other fighters take him to the ropes then make them regret it! this way the became afraid to go on the offence. as he got older he did this out of habit and laziness although he was still quite effective.
IMO roy jones jr is the most amazing boxer EVER! not the best though!Comment

I dont quite agree with you, probably because i am thinking more in terms of offensive skills, and equalizing the rest. Mayweather can put up a varied offense and adapt it very efficiently. Not saying that Jones is bad or not smart, but... you know... when you can throw 3 punches in 1 second, each of them can put most opponents to sleep, and step out or duck before the counter even comes (i think that's a good description of Jones at 160-68), it is kind of a given that you have to look good offensively.
Now, imagine that Jones was put in front of someone who was faster and hit harder than him (as in Judah with Mayweather), what would he do? how would he look? I would be betting my money on Jones, because he is an extremely gifted, dedicated and SMART athlete, but the thing is I have no idea what he would do. He never needed to be complete (he is kind of doing it now, I guess, by changing his style, it took him a damn while to adapt though). Mayweather in the Judah fight showed very effective aggression of the type that one wouldnt expect from him, not against world class opposition anyways.
Like I said, Jones might not be complete but why would he bother, when no one he ever faced was on his level in terms of natural abilities, and his style was sure effective...Comment

roy had more power and probably more handspeed but floyd's defense is better than roy's was.roy was an athletic freak, the reflexes where stunning.floyd's got some of that too though.Comment

Prime Roy was better but Floyd is more complete coz alot of what Roy duz REQUIRED his amazing reflexesComment

I'm not speaking on Roy as a complete package, I'm speaking strictly on his offense. He was far better, with his natural gifts and as a result of those gifts, than Floyd has ever been or will ever be. Roy could get rid of a fighter at any time with virtually any power punch. If he didn't put that guy out he would completely intimidate that fighter from throwing.I dont quite agree with you, probably because i am thinking more in terms of offensive skills, and equalizing the rest. The hypothetical and example you speak of had to do with Mayweather's defense as much as any measure of offense he showed. The difference is that Roy could take his offense to a new level, ala Montell Griffin episodes. Could you ever imagine Floyd just coming out and blowing a guy like Judah away? I can't. That's because Roy's offensive ability was on a different planet.Comment

Roy Jones Jr all ****ing day, Floyd couldnt even carry Roys strap to be honest with you, Jones won a Heavyweight Title and in the skills department look Floyd has lost more rounds than Jones has probably even today when you stack them up.Comment
